Limitless Wrestling's The Rooad Episode 14 Recap by Don Halliwell.
The Syndicate, Owen Brody and BA Tatum vs The Hive, Callux and Boomer Hatfield w/ Travis Huckabee
Leary had previously said if any member of the Hive lose a match in season 2 they are out of the group, so Boomer and Callux have a lot on the line. Owen and Boomer start the match. Owen gets the advantage on the mat and tags in BA who throws Boomer across the ring. The Syndicate double team Boomer, but he makes it to the corner and tags Callux. The Syndicate forms Voltron, as Brody gets on BA’s shoulders and they have the momentary height advantage, but Callux pokes BA in the eye and choke slams Owen. Boomer gets the tag and Callux wheelbarrow throws him on Owen. Boomer forces Owen into The Hive’s corner and Callux goes on the attack. Callux hits a BIG cartwheel splash onto Owen for a near fall then makes the tag to Boomer, who hits a senton with some help from Callux, who throws him over his head. Boomers lays into Owen, then places him on the top rope, but Owen spins off the second rope, hits a vertical suplex and makes the tag to BA. BA takes out both members of The Hive, then hits a spinning slam on Boomer, followed by an elbow from the top by Owen for a near fall. BA hits the midnight snack, but while he is celebrating and showing off his chest hair, Boomer makes the tag to Callux. Callux and BA exchange chops and BA hits a pounce sending Callux to the outside. BA hits a dive onto Callux and throws him back in the ring. He then hits a German suplex, followed by a uranage on Callux. BA goes for the pin, but Boomer comes in and makes the save. Boomer slides under the ropes and takes Owen’s legs out from under him forcing him to go face first into the apron. Boomer then throws Owen into the ringpost, eliminating him from the action. BA astonishingly picks up Callux, but Boomer comes from the top rope and dropkicks Callux forcing him to fall on BA and land on him for a 3 count. The Hive looked more like a cohesive team then they have before and this team could be a threat to any tag team in Limitless, with the quickness of Boomer and the power of big Callux. Callux was also very entertaining in this match, as I love to see the big man’s personality shine.
Mike Gamble and Armani Kayos
The American Sumo Mike Gamble has the size advantage, but Armani has the confidence after he and Paris Van Dale defeated the Sea Stars a few weeks ago. Kayos avoids Gamble’s early offensive attempts, but Gamble is finally able to take him down with multiple shoulder tackles and sends Kayos out of the ring. Armani slaps Gamble in the face as he is on the apron, then hits a should block and flips over Gamble’s back. He lands underneath Gamble and tries to roll him up, but Gamble is too big. Gamble tries to squash Armani, but he is able to move out of the way. Kayos takes over, hitting Gamble with multiple stomps to the back, then hitting 2 consecutive split leg drops for a near fall. Gable catches a slap by Armani and looks to take advantage, but Kayos hits him with a spin kick when he comes off the ropes. Kayos follows this up with a flat liner and then puts Gamble in a Camel Clutch. Gamble is able to power out by standing up and throwing Kayos over his head. He then hits multiple clotheslines and splashes Kayos in the corner. He goes for another splash, but Kayos moves and table tops him. Gamble falls over him and Kayos pins him for a 3 count with his feet on the ropes. Mike Gamble put up a good fight, but Armani Kayos is on a roll. He does use some underhanded tactics at times, but he is very entertaining and has some incredibly athletic moves. I look for Armani to have a breakout year in 2021.
TJ Crawford vs Traevon Jordan
Both of these wrestlers are very quick and athletic. Jordan has the height advantage, but TJ has the experience and technical advantage. They exchange holds to start. It is a very quick pace, but no one is able to get the advantage and they are at a standstill after they each missed kicks. TJ extends his hand to shake, but kicks Jordan in the gut and takes the advantage. Jordan takes over when he catches TJ with a side slam. He then goes for a side kick but misses and is hit with multiple kicks by TJ followed by a sliding dropkick for a near fall. TJ is relentless with his attack on Jordan. He hits a running knee in the corner and a flying clothesline off the ropes. He then slams Jordan to the mat and is upset that he is not able to get a 3 count. TJ puts Jordan in a headlock, but Jordan elbows out. Jordan then hits a clothesline and a back elbow, followed up with a splash in the corner and a leg drop. Jordan then goes for a side kick but misses again. TJ hits a suplex then a brainbuster but still only gets a 2 count. TJ tries to pick Jordan up, but Jordan elbows out and hits a sky-high spine buster for a near fall of his own. Jordan goes for a splash in the corner but misses and TJ ties him upside down on the turnbuckle and kicks him in the face. TJ slams Jordan face first to the mat, but Jordan fights back and they both end up on the mat. This is a very competitive match where neither one can get the advantage for too long. Jordan hits multiple kicks but TJ twists in the air and kicks Jordan in the head. TJ kicks Jordan in the head again, but Jordan answers with a clothesline and they are both down again. They exchange strikes on their knees, and when they get to their feet TJ hits multiple forearms and a kick to the knee but Jordan answers with forearms of this own and they continue to exchange strikes until TJ gets Jordan to his knees and hits him with a knee to the head. TJ picks up Jordan, but Jordan gets out and hits the Calf Kick for the win. This was an incredible match with both of these wrestlers showing why they are future stars. They both had explosions of energy and speed, but also hit powerful strikes. This may have been one of my favorite matches on this season of The Road.
Ricky Archer vs Mac Daniels
This is a first-time matchup between two young competitors. Archer gets the early advantage and Mac goes to the outside. Archer chases him and Mac tries to catch him coming into the ring, but Archer hits him with a shoulder block through the ropes and throws him back to the outside. Archer hits a dive onto Mac. Once they are back in the ring Archer goes for a splash in the corner, but Mac pulls the ref in front of him and pokes Archer in the eye to take the advantage. Mac keeps the pressure on and hits a knee to the head for a near fall. Mac tries to keep Archer grounded, but Archer is able to get up. He goes for a cross body but is caught and Mac drops him back first into his knee. Archer gets a burst of energy and hits soul food for a near fall. He then goes after Mac in the corner, but Mac moves and hits archer with a DDT. Mac gets frustrated that he cannot put Archer away and just begins punching him. Archer goes back on the advantage and goes for a splash in the corner, but Mac pulls the ref in front of him again. He hits Archer with a low blow and goes for a pin but there is no ref. Mac gets the ref back up but when he turns around Archer rolls him up for the win. Mac attacks Archer after the bell and stands tall in the ring even though he was not victorious.
