Indie Wrestling Wire: Wrestle Lab presents The Hitlist Volume #2 preview.

By Don Halliwell

I had not seen much of Wrestle Lab prior to their 1st show on IWTV, but I was already a fan of them based on their social media presence and what they stand for.  The list of wrestlers that have competed there includes a lot of people that I am big fans of, and they always seem to have interesting matchups.  Plus, MV is their champion, so you cannot go wrong with that.

The Hit List Vol 1 was headlined by MV Young against Mr. Grim for the Wrestle Lab championship. This was a cinematic match similar to the ones that MV has had with Pinky Sanchez and Big Game Leroy.  Instead of having announcers, the match was accompanied by music.  It was a street fight that started on the roof of the Polyam Cult Mansion.  They used whatever weapons they could get hold of and came close to pushing each other off the roof multiple times.  They then took the fight down to the street and ended up on a large metal staircase.  MV gets the win and the championship by hitting Mr. Grim with a knee to the head, then stomping his head into the metal stairs.

Volume 1 of the Hit list opened with Dicky Moon vs Shane Mercer, which was a match up of power against agility. Next was, Wheeler Yuta vs Mason Myles, which was a very competitive match where both wrestlers brought out some of their most innovative moves.  The Sea Stars took on the Diamond Dogs, this was another match up where it was the speed and athleticism of the Sea Stars against the size and power of the Diamond Dogs.  The final match from the vault was Lee Moriarty vs TJ Crawford, which was an excellent match that you should definitely check out.  Lee and TJ showed off the athleticism that they are known for and had a very fun, high speed, high impact match.

Volume 2 looks to bring us more interesting match ups from the vault and a title defense from MV Young.  Vol 2 includes a Seven-State Scramble with Rocketboy Wilson, Richard Holliday, Nick Tendo, AJ Gray, Matt Kenway, Mantequilla and Chip Day.  Also included in matches from the vault are a match between Trever Aeon and Joe Gacy and what sounds like a very fun and interesting 6-man tag between the Main State Posse of Aiden Aggro, Alexander Lee and Dangerkid against Effy and the Gym Nasty Boys.

Along with these matches we have Ziggy Haim against Andrew Palace from The Polyam Cult Party 2 in Pittsburgh.  I was there live for this match and it was a very fun and competitive match.  Andrew Palace is a mainstay in the Pittsburgh wrestling scene where he has won multiple titles and had impressive matches against the likes of Josh Alexander and Wardlow.  He was also recently on this past season of Limitless’ The Road, defeating Channing Thomas.  Ziggy Haim is also someone who has been on the rise.  She had an incredible match with Lee Moriarty at the first Polyam Cult Party and has recently been seen with Derek Dillinger in AIW as part of The Production.

The main event features MV Young defending the Wrestle Lab Championship against the biggest opponent that he has ever faced, CALLUX.  MV’s first defense of the championship was at the Polyam Cult Party 2 where he defended it against Jody and Joshua Wavra.  While MV was able to overcome the odds in that match and retain his belt against 2 opponents, this will be a completely different challenge.  CALLUX is a giant of a man that will use his size and strength to his advantage but is also not afraid to leave his feet to do damage to his opponent.  If you want to see what kind of destruction CALLUX is capable of check out his absolutely insane match from Camp Leapfrog’s Slumber Party against CC Boost.

MV is not a stranger to taking on opponents bigger than him, as he recently faced Parrow in a no ring death match, but it appears that he may need to call on the power of his 13,000 romantic partners to retain his title against CALLUX.
