Sucky Chucky
Being a Raiders fan for 45 years has been quite the
weird, sports driven ride. Great teams of the 1970s and 1980s. Mediocre teams of
the 1990s. Good teams of early 2000s. And then pure bullshit teams since then. I’ve
watched all the decades. But it is this season Krüde wants to exploit
for all that it truly is.
Currently, the Raiders are 5-2 for the 2021 NFL season.
Not bad. On the field, they are winning with consistency. Off the field, a
totally different story.
Enter the name Jon Gruden. Former head coach for the
Raiders on two separate occasions. Gruden was first hired by Al Davis in
1998 to be Raiders head coach. In 4 seasons, Gruden had the Raiders in the
playoffs twice. His last game as HC during his first tenure with Raiders was the
Infamous Tuck Rule Game. In the snow in New England, the NFL decided to
use a obscure rule to rationalize an obvious fumble call. Raiders lost. Gruden
was soon traded to Tampa Bay Buccaneers for draft picks and cash
Fast forward to 2018. Gruden is a color analyst for Monday
Night Football. Making pretty good bank as well. When the Raiders fire
their then HC after the 2017 season, talk of Gruden coming back to Raiders
heated up. Then it became official: Gruden is back as HC. My initial reaction
was passive. Too many HC changes for Raiders over the years has desensitized
me. Too much losing angered me. Gruden did win a Super Bowl while coach
of Bucs. But never sniffed another big game ever again while being a HC. Now he
comes to the Raiders for an encore. Raiders give him an unbelievable contract ($100
Mil over 10 years). And virtually ALL player personnel decisions. Damn. That’s
like having all the stroke. And what happens…..
Gruden immediately trades away the best defensive player in
the world (Khalil Mack). Trades away their best WR (Amari Cooper). And guts 75%
of the roster.
Raiders suck in 2018.
Raiders use high draft picks gained with recent trades on
suspect players (Ferrell). And in 2019, they still suck.
2020 season starts, and the Raiders are slightly better.
Still only win 8 games. Bad drafting and awful defense sink team. Gruden is
responsible for the drafting. And the hiring of a shitty defensive coordinator
This season marks year 4 in the second Gruden era of Raiders
football. Team wins first 3 games. Looking
good. Then lose next two. Gruden is made the target(?!??!?) of an NFL
investigation of Washington Football Team. Gruden was a friend with a
former Washington front office person. Emails were exchanged between the two.

In a league that lets rapists, child abusers and wife beaters
play and coach, Gruden’s emails shouldn’t be cause for concern. Yet, he is at
home licking his wounds, never to coach in NFL again. The Raiders are now playing
MUCH better without Gruden. Check these stats out:

man. Uses bluster and facial expressions to fool the world into thinking he is
good at what he does (did). He isn’t
Raiders have no place in their organization for two faced,scum bags like Jon Gruden. Al Davis knew something in 2002 when he traded Gruden to Bucs.
