Going into this review I had heard a lot of things. "It sucks," "It's okay," "It changed my life, "How are the roads," "Is it made out of peacock" and "what's going into the old Kmart,".
I was shockingly surprised.
The burger itself reminded me of a less flavorful version of the Steak n Shake smash burger; it was cooked perfectly but could have used some seasoning. I got the "Chris" style burger, which consists of two smashed burgers (I added a third patty, don't judge me!) and a side of fries with two pieces of bacon. We'll talk about the bacon in a minute.
One thing I didn't like is the sugar on fries. That's stupid. Sugar doesn't belong on fries. I believe Wing Stop does that too. It's the equivalent of pineapple on pizza. If you need sweets, get a dessert.
Speaking of which, the cookie was great. It reminded me of the old Subway cookies. You know, the ones they served before the current cookies that don't hold a candle to the classic cookie.
The bacon isn't that precooked microwave bacon that McDonalds uses. It's real slices of bacon and it's really good.
In the end, I'd say this is a decent hamburger. I'd eat this over McDonalds or Burger King. Is it Five Guys? Nope. Is it In-n-Out? Nope, but you know what? I don't think In-N-Out is all that great either. Pretty bland actually.
I'd give the burger a 3.8 out of 5 - The fries are garbage - get them unseasoned and season them the right way at home, with salt. The cookie is darn good.
Would I get it again? Doubtful - though, I am a little interested in the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich.
