Captain Neweyes travels back in time to what is presumably the Late Cretaceous Period. He feeds four dinosaurs his Brain Grain cereal, which makes them intelligent, nonviolent, and gentle. They then travel via airship to the present day where they befriend a street smart and tough talking boy named Louie, and a wealthy, but neglected girl named Cecilia. The dinosaurs are then forced into performing in a demented circus run by the Captain Neweyes' evil brother, Professor Screweyes, who has twisted plans for them.
