Forty Of The Week - St. Ides High Gravity Malt Liquor

Where else can you find a malt liquor that is brewed with natural ingredients and comes in at a whopping 8.2% alcohol by volume? If you said St. Ides High Gravity Malt Liquor, you would be correct! St. Ides is a classic malt liquor around since the late 1980's that is now manufactured by the Pabst Brewing Company. Formally known as St. Ides Premium Malt Liquor, it was reformulated in the early 2000's and the alcohol content was increased from 6.2% to 8.2% ABV.

Brewed with natural ingredients!
A 40 ounce of St. Ides High Gravity Malt Liquor is guaranteed to get the job done. St. Ides has the standard malt liquor taste similar to an Olde English or Colt 45, but is still very enjoyable. It does have that malt liquor smell, and if you drink enough different types of malt liquor you know that I mean. Amid all the 40 ounce controversy the last few years, St. Ides stayed true to itself with the classic glass 40 ounce bottle when all the other competitors were making the switch to plastic.

Ice cold glass!
In the early 90's, St. Ides was the pick of many celebrities and seen all over the place. While times have changed a lot since then, the former product of the McKenzie River Corporation (who also developed such fine products as Steel Reserve and Sparks) can still be found in most liquor stores. It look me awhile to finally get my hands on a bottle of St. Ides High Gravity Malt Liquor, but thanks to my friend Dan, he got me the hookup!

HIGH GRAVITY!
It's going to be a hot one this weekend, so what better way to cool down than with a 40 ounce bottle of St. Ides High Gravity Malt Liquor? Just be sure to drink it quick and enjoy it before it gets warm! I am happy to induct St. Ides High Gravity Malt Liquor is the BWB Forty Of The Week! Cheers!
