AEW Dynamite | Episode 15 | 1/15/20 | Watsco Center | Miami, Florida - Bash At The Beach

By Maria Rose

Another week gone by, another great AEW Dynamite. Bash at the Beach has started! Not to
mention the big news that they will now be on TNT until 2023 at least. I’m happy about this. AEW
changed the wrestling scene for many fans and they deserve this.

Onto the show. The opening match, a 4-way tag match for a chance at the AEW Tag Team
Championship titles, was in my opinion, the best match of the night.

Hangman Adam Page and Kenny Omega vs Santana and Ortiz vs Best Friends w/Orange Cassidy vs The Young Bucks.

The crowd just loves Hangman Page and they start a much deserved ”Cowboy Shit” chant. In this match we saw a little bit of The Elite vs The Elite. It’s great how they end up working together even while being against each other. My personal favorites in this match were Santana and Ortiz. They play their parts perfectly. Interfering when necessary and being just cocky enough to be hated. Plus, they are an excellent team. They were my pick to win.

Page and Omega worked well together this week and it was way less awkward. High point because they won and could possibly become AEW Tag Team Champions when they face SCU. Maybe this could cause a rift in The Elite though...

Also, how over is Orange Cassidy?! Can’t blame the fans for loving him. He’s awesome.

Now we get Cody, who comes out alone, to let everyone know if he will accept MJFs
stipulations. He does. But not before letting the world know how he really feels about MJF. Cody says he lives rent free in MJFs head. As an MJF fan I want to disagree, but I don’t. Cody gives another great promo and you can actually feel the passion this man has for the pro wrestling business and AEW. Goosebumps.

Backstage Joey Janela challenges Rey Fenix.

Next up is The Nightmare Collective minus Awesome Kong. It’s Mel and Brandi Rhodes vs.
Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander. Not much to talk about here but Kris Statlander picks up the win. She’s definitely a highlight of the match. This match was ok, nothing special but I hope to see more from Nightmare Collective.

Moving on we see Dark Order expressing how they want to recruit Michael Nakazawa, Kenny Omega, Brandon Cutler, and Hangman Adam Page. (Mostly people who are in or who have connections to the Elite) I like where this is going.

Sammy Guevara vs Jon Moxley is up next. Fantastic entrance by Moxley in the car. During the
match I have to say Sammy is so quick and most definitely an up and coming star. His character is great, and I look forward to watching him develop it. Moxley wins via submission, which I figured he would win but Sammy gave him a good match. On a side note, Moxley looks at home in AEW.

We then hear Le Champion Chris Jericho’s music. The next thing you know, the lights go out and The
Inner Circle is in the ring attacking Moxley. While I was thinking Jericho’s spiked jacket was pretty awesome, he took a spike off and poked it in Moxleys eye. Using his jacket as a weapon was great. I don’t take it back. The jacket is still hot.

Just a random thought but as Moxley is getting attacked by The Inner Circle they ring that damn bell.
Honestly, has it ever done anything for anyone?

The 6-man tag match is up next. The Butcher, The Blade and MJF vs QT Marshall, Dustin Rhodes, and DDP. MJF and DDP was what the crowd wanted, and they got it. DDP jumping off the top rope scared me a bit, but I was impressed that he did that at his age. MJF using his ring to his advantage surprised absolutely no one. He’s smart and arrogant as hell. How can you not dislike him in the ring?

MJF gets the win of course. And let me just add that his shirt was hilarious. He is gold.

Backstage we see SCU and they get interrupted by Hangman Page who has clearly been drinking. Kenny Omega has to come get him out of a potentially bad situation. I could see Omega and Page winning the Tag titles. And I wouldn’t mind it one bit.

The main event is PAC vs Darby Allin. This was the match I was most excited for. I’m becoming a huge fan of Darby Allin and I love his in-ring skills. PAC is an excellent competitor as well and they both put on a great match. PAC is the winner in the end, but I really think Darby Allin will have his time to shine. He just has something special. As PAC is giving his promo about Moxley having to forfeit, we see Jon Moxley escaping the ambulance and coming out to let PAC know he will still be competing. Eye patch or not.

Overall good show and great build to next weeks episode. Can’t wait to see the continuation of
Bash at the Beach.
