The Raw Recap 3/2/20

Monday Night Raw Report by Chelsea Weiand

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman open up Raw tonight. Lesnar has been showing up every week to Raw for a while now. I think it’s time about time for him to take a break soon. McIntyre interrupts Heyman and gets in the ring with Lesnar. Lesnar seems a little bit afraid of McIntyre to me. Holy shit! McIntyre with a claymore kick! I love that the crowd is chanting “Na na na na, na na na na, hey, hey, hey, hey, goodbye” to Lesnar. Haha. Seems like we are going to have a good crowd tonight. As Lesnar is walking up the ramp, McIntyre runs from backstage and hits him with another Claymore!!!! In true McIntyre fashion, he gives the fans what they want as they chant “one more time”…….A THIRD CLAYMORE!!! Finally a good start to Raw.

The Street Profits Vs. Rollins & Murphy: First match of the night is for the Tag Team Titles.  I just have to say that The Street Profits entrance always gets me pumped! I’m also still not feeling the “Monday Night Messiah”. I love watching all of these guys in the ring, I just don’t like their group. This has been a pretty decent match. A lot of back and forth with these guys. OMG! K.O with a stunner to Rollins! This gives Ford enough time to deliver a frog splash to Rollins and we have NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!!! I am so excited! These two make more sense being the Tag Team Champs. Now I think Seth is going to move on from tagging with Murphy and go after K.O.

Ricochet Vs. Riddick Moss: This is for the 24/7 championship title. Wait, this title still exists? I forget about it whenever Truth isn’t the champion.  I’m not a big fan of either of these guys, but this has been an alright match. Moss with the pin on Ricochet to retain the 24/7 Championship,  not that anyone in the WWE Universe cares.

AJ Styles: Styles rants about how he should be out here with a beautiful trophy but Undertaker took that away from him last Thursday at Super Showdown. We see a video clip from Mark Wahlberg giving Styles advise to stay away from the Undertaker. But Styles says he doesn’t want advise from Marky Mark. Hahaha. Styles is one of my favorites when he is a heel.

Aleister Black Vs. AJ Styles: This was supposed to be Styles Vs. Black, but Styles said that Black needs to go through Anderson first. This ended up being a quick match with Aleister winning. Now time for AJ and Black. But wait…..AJ says that if Aleister beats Anderson, then he needs to go through Gallows. Both very big guys here. Gallows ends up getting himself disqualified. Gallows and Anderson start attacking Black so he will be unable to go against Styles. Black is barely able to stand as the bell is rung. Styles seems to be dominating in this match, but Aleister still has a little bit of fight in him. Not enough to win though, because here comes AJ with the Phenomenal Forearm. Styles sends a message to the deadman by doing Undertakers signature cover.

Liv Morgan Vs. Ruby Riott with Sarah Logan as the guest referee: This should be a great match. Ever since Ruby turned on Liv, tensions have been running high. This match starts and I’m just waiting for Logan to get involved. Ruby gets in Logans face, which pisses her off. Liv rolls up Ruby and Logan delivers a fast three count to give Liv the win. Logan then attacks Ruby and Liv. I am particularly looking forward to this match at Elimination Chamber.

We have a little segment here, where No Way Jose asks Rowan if he can just show them what is in his cage. Rowan agrees to finally show them and us. And guess what he pulls out. Just take a wild guess. A spider……yeah. All of that build up for a robotic spider. I don’t have anything more to add to this other than if that is what he really had in there this whole time, then this is REALLY disappointing.

Shayna Baszler Vs. Kairi Sane: This is Shayna’s first time competing on Raw. Im not surprised with how quick this match is. They have to make Shayna win to look good leading up to WrestleMania. Kairi goes for the Insane Elbow but Shayna gets her knees up. Shayna wins with the Kirifuda Clutch.

Rey Mysterio & Humberto Carrillo Vs. Andrade & Angel Garza: I’m happy to see Andrade is back. This should be a fun match, especially since all of these guys wrestle in Lucha style. The crowd seems really in to this match, as am I. There is a lot happening. We see a Destroyer by Mysterio to Garza and he almost has the pin, but Andrade breaks it up. Mysterio also delivers a 619 to Andrade & Garza at the same time during this match. Carrillo with a Moonsault to Andrade and he gets the pin. This has me thinking that maybe we will see a match between Andrade and Carrillo Sunday for the US Championship.

Beth Pheonix is out here to give a medical update on Edge. Orton comes out and tries to give Beth a hug and apologize, but Beth is not happy. I am patiently waiting for the viper to strike. Haha. The crowd is even chanting “RKO!” Orton tells us about how he first met Edge and how he saved his life and now Orton is trying to save his. He says he wants Edge to be able to spend time with his kids and Beth. Orton then takes a kick to the mid section from Beth but he counters with an RKO! Yes! That’s all I wanted to see during this segment.

Tonight was an ok Raw. I enjoyed the opening segment with McIntyre giving Brock a taste of his own medicine. He better win the title at WrestleMania! I also liked both of the tag matches tonight. It’s nice to see that The Street Profits are Tag Team Champs. I think that they could have done a better job with the lead up to Elimination Chamber this Sunday. I guess we’ll see what Smackdown has to offer on Friday.

Until next time WWE Universe.
