Going into this week’s Dynamite, I was personally looking forward to seeing the brackets for the new TNT Championship, along with the debut match of Lance Archer. Another week with no audience but I was glad to see the wrestlers, and Pharaoh ringside hyping up the matches again.
We see the TNT Championship tournament quarter finals bracket which will begin next week.
Shawn Spears vs Cody Rhodes
Kip Sabian vs Dustin Rhodes
Sammy Guevara vs Darby Allin
Lance Archer vs Colt Cabana
My prediction for this is Darby Allin winning the whole thing.
The opening match for Dynamite was Trent of Best Friends with Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy vs Kenny Omega. I really thought this was going to be a short match with Kenny getting a quick win, but I was wrong. Trent really brought it to Kenny. Kenny got the win with 1-minute remaining in a 20 min time limit match. Easily my favorite match of the night.
The next match was Hikaru Shida vs Anna Jayy. I had no idea who Anna Jayy was before this match, but she really did a great job. Showing a lot of sass and a great wrestler. Shida got the win but I was really impressed with Anna Jayy.
Next up was Lance Archer vs Marko Stunt. This was Lance Archers debut match. I found it odd that it was against Marko Stunt, but we really got to see Archers dominance. Archer gets the obvious win and then heads back into the ring and basically flings Marko into the other wrestlers.
We see The Exalted One backstage with his minions. Showing his dominance over them once again. No yawning of course.
The third match of the night was Dark Order number’s 8 & 9 vs Natural Nightmares Qt Marshall and Dustin Rhodes with Brandi. Going into this match I wasn’t too excited about it, but it ended up being a pretty good match. Natural Nightmares got the win and are undefeated.
After the match, Brodie Lee heads to the ring and powerbombs either #8 or #9 I’m not sure which one, just to prove a point because they lost.
Chris Jericho cuts a great promo relaxing in his pool. Telling the Elite that even though it’s April Fools Day, The Elite are the biggest fools. As he’s talking Vanguard1 shows up and leaves with the shirt Jericho gave it after asking the drone to join Inner Circle. No answer was given from Vanguard1.
The Main Event of the night was Sammy Guevara and Shawn Spears vs Darby Allin and Cody Rhodes.
Glad to see Shawn Spears on Dynamite, gambling during his own match, and Sammy vlogging in the beginning. Great heels. This was a good tag match, I enjoyed it. Best part was when Darby did a coffin drop off a pole. He’s surely something special. Spears and Guevara ended up getting the win and after the match Darby hit Cody and left. A heel turn? I don’t think so.
I’m glad we are still able to get entertaining wrestling matches during this very unsure time. Dynamite was great once again and although I prefer an audience, I think everything is still coming together well. Hopefully this is over soon, and we can go back to a semi normal life again. Looking forward to next weeks Dynamite with the beginning of the TNT Championship tournament.
