As Uncharted Territory went into its fourth week, the continuing conflict between MJF and Chris Dickinson saw even more players involved. MJF started this show proudly introducing not only Richard Holliday, who surprise attacked Dickinson at the end of episode 3, but also their fellow Dynasty member Alex Hammerstone. This unification of the Dynasty in a Beyond Wrestling ring looked like trouble for the Dirty Daddy, but he had backup of his own with Santana and Ortiz. This all set up for a solid six-man tag for the main event.

On Commentary: Paul Crockett and Josh Briggs
Say what you will about Briggs on commentary but I think the more he exasperates Paul Crockett the funnier it is. We only have a few episodes left with this commentary pairing as Briggs would soon be returning to the ring, so I’m enjoying this while I can.

Match 1: Jay Freddie vs. Brandon Thurston
This match could have lasted all two hours and I would not have been upset at all. Honestly, for an opening match, this was top notch quality from Freddie and Thurston. I’d put this on a list of must-see matches for new Beyond fans. Freddie wins via submission and this sparks off a multi-season feud that brought forth one of the most enjoyable series of matches last year.

Match 2: Mick Moretti vs. LD ‘Mantis’ Montesanti
Prior to the match Moretti forced an interview with then-reporter Cam(eron) Zagami. It’s crazy, but if you’ve watched later episodes prior to the initial ones and you’ve seen Zagami’s transformation you really don’t want to feel sorry for him getting bullied by Moretti, but...poor guy for now. Moretti seemed to feel pretty comfortable going into his 4th Gauntlet match, but as I’ve said before - each Gauntlet match gets progressively better. Mantis was not here to play around and he got the win (and would go on to next week’s Gauntlet match) after a hard-fought banger.

Match 3: Puf vs. Coach Mammone
I’m not of the opinion that anybody’s coach should wear shorts that creep around the upper thigh, but here we have Coach Mammone. He’s taking on everybody’s favorite Buffalo boy Puf, who doesn’t respond well to Coach’s attempts to train him. In fact, Coach’s coaching ends up kicking his own ass more often than not. This was a fun and feel-good match that saw Puf get the win, but the audience didn’t get the anticipated warm and fuzzy ending.

For the second week in a row we have Chuck O’Neil doing a post-match attack, this time hitting a massive suplex on Puf. The crowd tore into Chuck, declaring “FUCK O’NEIL” (LOL) and he took the mic to state his distaste for the current Beyond roster and its lack of competition...and just to be a bastard in general.

Match 4: The Beaver Boys (John Silver and Alex Reynolds) vs. the Butcher and the Blade (Pepper Parks and Andy Williams)
It’s pretty wild to think that everyone involved in this match is now AEW talent. This episode was the show’s debut of the Butcher and the Blade, and they had an exceptional introduction into Uncharted Territory with this match. The situation with the Beaver Boys, though, is that they’re talented enough to succeed without playing dirty but they’re just so comfortable with cheating to win. That’s the case here - Parks and Williams had the match won until Silver and Reynolds took the dirty victory by way of ref distraction. Shady win, but a victory nonetheless, and the Beaver Boys go on in episode 5 to take on SLITHER...which will make for a nice comeuppance for Silver and Reynolds’s showing here.

Match 5: Davienne vs. Solo Darling
Solo vs. Davienne was a match worthy of the good amount of time it got. Davienne was strong and imposing in her Episode 3 match against Kris Statlander, and she brought that same rough demeanor to this match. Solo was ready for the fight, though, and got an impressive win. In her post match interview, Solo made her next focus on Beyond’s Lethal Lottery, their event held two weeks after this episode’s air date.

Match 6: Team Pazuzu (Chris Dickinson, Santana, and Ortiz) vs. The Dynasty (Richard Holliday, Alexander Hammerstone, and MJF)
This six-man tag match made a pretty damn good main event! Beyond did a nice job of introducing new talent to the show by way of the Dickinson/MJF feud; it was good to see them team these guys up to introduce them to the audience rather than have them fight in singles matches. Each member of the Dynasty has such a great jerk appeal to them that you almost hate that they work so well together as a team. Team Pazuzu was the above and beyond favorite, and Santana, Ortiz, and Dickinson meshed just as well as a crew. Very satisfying end to this match as Team Pazuzu got the victory after Dickinson crushed MJF with a Pazuzu Bomb.

Post-Show Thoughts
It’s good to know that Beyond is open to all different styles of wrestling on the show. As a fan I love seeing great technical or high flying matches but I still love a good comedy match thrown in for fun, like the Puf/Coach match. There’s also a thrill in seeing the deathmatches that I know are coming up in this season, too - it gives Uncharted Territory a variety show vibe that I haven’t experienced on a week-to-week basis since ECW was televised back in the day. Fun episode!
