Black Label Pro's "Turbo Graps 16" Preview

I've only been following Independent Wrestling for a few years. In that time I've really focused on a handful of promotions: Beyond Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, AAW, Absolute Intense Wrestling, Glory Pro Wrestling and Black Label Pro.

2020 has been a shit show for these promotions - handfuls of shows cancelled early on during the pandemic; some still saddled with closed cities, while other's dealing with limited attendance and the never ending policing of social distancing.

But like the indie never dies war cry many of these promotions wear on their sleeves, they've all found ways to continue in some way.

And we're about to enter the sweet spot of an otherwise bitter year. October witnesses The Collective - what was once the Indie companion of WrestleMania, returns from the dead in mid-October with twelve action packed events.

Before we get to The Collective, however, Black Label Pro has some magic up it's bloody sleeve: Turbo Graps 16 - A two part, single day tournament that has true connoisseur's of the graps salivating.

It's just the beginning of the end of Black Label Pro's opus of 2020 ... in November they'll run Slamilton, easily one of last year's best indie event's.

But lets focus on Turbo Graps 16 - sixteen of the top Independent pro wrestlers on planet earth vie for the opportunity of bragging rights. Maybe even more.

Last year, in the finals of the Turbo Graps 16, Warhorse defeated newly crowned IWTV champion, Erick Steven's to win both the tournament and the title - the latter to which he has yet to lose.

The field of participants is a who's who of today's stars:

Chris Bey v. Blake Christian
Ethan Page v. Dan The Dad
A Very Good Professional Wrestler v. Isaias Velazquez
Tom Lawlor v. Levi Everett
Erick Stevens v. AJ Gray
Brian Myers v. Effy
ACH v. Christian Casanova
Jake Something v. Calvin Tankman

Looking at the list, you're hard pressed to find a weak match in the first round. Key matchups: Stevens/Gray, Bey/Christian ... but they all have potential for excellence.

Kylie Rae will defend her BLP Midwest strap against Alex Shelley - an announcement that brought everyone's favorite smiling wrestler tear up. And the previously mentioned Warhorse will defend his IWTV title against Joshua Bishop.

Both show's air on IWTV.Live on October 3rd. Part one at NOON, part two at Four PM.  Use promo code BLACKLABEL for a 5 day free trial!
