The Collective: GCW Presents Effy's Big Gay Brunch Recap

All people under all colors of the rainbow were given a beautiful Saturday morning spotlight to kickoff day two of the Collective.  Another solid show filled with action, fun and surprises started the day off on a beautiful, positive foot.  Here's what all went down:

Team Sea Stars (Ashley Vox & Delmi Exo) defeated AC Mack & Ashton Starr

For a first time pairing, Mack and Starr were a very tight team who gave the Stars all they could handle.  When the dust settled though, the experience of Vox & Exo came out on top, using an assisted tumbleweed senton for the win.

Still Life With Apricots and Pears defeated the DARK Sheik

Who expected a catch wrestling and grappling clinic from these two?  I knew it was possible given their body of work, but it was a pleasant surprise.  Another surprise was definitely Sheik's Trouble in Paradise/Boom Drop combo later on in the match.  In the end though, the living work of art capitalized on a missed top rope legdrop of Sheik's.  After locking in a rough Indian deathlock variation, Sheik was trapped and tapped.

Second Gear Crew (Mance Warner, Manders, Matthew Justice and Levi Everett)  defeated Effy's All-Stars (Joshua Wavra, Billy Dixon, MV Young and O'Shay Edwards)

Crazy, beautiful chaos ensued.  Highlights included the amazing crowd support received by Everett and anytime MV and Justice absolutely ripped into each other.  After mistakenly getting blasted no less then thrice by his teammates, O'Shay walked out on his partners.  The end saw Dixon pinned after a diving headbutt from Levi and a huge splash from Justice.  A very fun brawl and a gorgeous mess.

Intermission:  Drag Performance

Tony Deppen for some reason decided to interrupt and Effy blasted his disrespectful ass with a chair for the save.  One of the performers even got a chair shot in on Deppen.

Jamie Senegal (w/ Saint Sinclair) defeated Allie Kat

This one started on a fun note which didn't last long at all.  Allie was quite enamored by Jamie and coyly asked for a belly rub.  This was responded to by Senegal walking over Kat as she was prone.  It was a clear message early:  zero respect.  A strong, fairly even battle ended after interference from Sinclair led to a  facebuster on a chair from Senegal and the the pinfall.

The Twink Gauntlet, won by Devon Monroe

A showcase for Parrow to absolutely body people even though he didn't end up victorious.  So much action, so many twinks (actual & spiritual) and a nice showcase for many.

Entry Order:  Jimmy Lloyd, Dylan Mckay, Jared Evans, Logan Stunt, Parrow, Calvin Couture & Tyler Klein, Juicy Jimmy, Molly McCoy, a bevy of unlimited twinks (which included Kit Osbourne, Boom Harden, GLITCH and others) and Devon Monroe.
Highlights included Parrow's dominance, his powerbomb of Molly into one of the arena's concrete walls and a change of heart from Tony Deppen.  A superkick from Tony helped soften up Parrow for the eventual victor Devon Monroe who caught the huge bear with a roll-up to win.

Too Hot For TV Match:  Surprise opponent Marko Stunt defeated Effy

This match had everything that I had never seen in a match before: hot candle wax, a bondage-style whip, a ball gag that for some reason the ref had on them, a squirting phallic toy and a real life sex doll.  It's also a sentence I never expected to type in a wrestling recap.  Regardless, the match was almost all Stunt who out quicked and out thought Daddy every step of the way.  After confusing a blinded Effy with the doll (who doesn't seem to flinch for some reason), Marko put Effy thru a door with a sunset bomb variant to get the victory.  A strange, entertaining fever dream of a bout.

MARKO

Cassandro defeated Sonny Kiss

A gigantic ovation welcomed the exotico of legend to the Collective as the crowd was fired up to see an icon.  The match started on fairly even footing as their collar and elbow tie up spilled  to the floor.  Sonny had an early advantage, but a rope walk rana followed by a dive regained control for Cassandro.  That control started to slip and the legend remedied that by taking Sonny to the floor, sending Kiss into numerous chairs.  The action picked up with Sonny looking to put the legend away but an amazing twisting sunset flip bomb scored and the legend pinned the Concrete Rose.  After, a wonderful show of respect was shown to Cassandro by Effy and numerous others from the card with a roaring crowd for a background.  Before going off the air, Effy announced a sequel for the next Collective weekend.
