New South Pro Wrestling presents Action Clash Episode 12
Event Air Date: December 1, 2020
Event Venue: JC Arena in Hanceville, AL
Available on demand via IWTV.live
As we head into New South’s Winter Warz this weekend, the most recent episode of Action Clash was packed with talent both new and established. This week’s show featured five solid matches as opposed to the usual three, making this hour one of the fastest ones yet. Strong evidence that a second hour is needed in the future if the promotion has this much to offer in just 60 minutes!
On Commentary: John ‘Mose’ Mosley and Dump Sanders
In my opinion the mark of a good commentator is how they do calling a match on their own, and Mose did a fantastic job of calling the first two matches of this episode solo. After the second match Dump took his spot at the table for the remainder of the show, and commentary was solid throughout. I’d love to see more wrestlers on the roster invited to the table with Mose; if not for a whole show at least for one or two matches.
Match 1: Brayden Toon vs. Duncan Mitchell
The opening match for this episode had two of New South’s young and hungry competitors going one on one. I’m a fan of Duncan Mitchell already, but this was definitely Brayden Toon’s match to impress. Plenty of time was given to these two, which was good for all of us who aren’t familiar yet with how Duncan or Brayden can go in the ring. Excellent first match that ended with Mitchell winning via submission. Great showing from both guys!
Loved the hell out of this match, both these guys are the future!@toon_brayden @TheProspectDM #ActionClash pic.twitter.com/kEl9LyvWKk

Match 2: We Want Employment (Jon Averson, JD Rush, and Carson Dilbeck) vs. Dump Sanders, Brandon Williams and Coty Coons
If there’s a better stable name on the indies now than We Want Employment then I haven’t seen it yet. The name tells you everything you need to know about New South’s newest stable; they’re ready to work and they did a bang up job of it in this six-man tag. The New South Express teamed up with the promotion’s big success story Coty Coons, ring announcer turned in-ring competitor. It’s very cool to see Coty step out of his usual position and into the squared circle; he looked quite impressive here against guys who are equally making their name as newcomers. Even though Rush, Dilbeck, and Averson were on the losing side of this one I’m looking forward to seeing more W.W.E. on Action Clash in future episodes.

Match 3: Adam Priest vs. Bailey Blake
Welcome to this new side of Bailey Blake! We all saw a much more aggressive and assertive version of the Tinder Titan in his match against New South’s modern day Rick Rude, Adam Priest. That fierceness Bailey’s acquired recently would be needed in this match against Priest, a dominating force in his own right. Definitely one of the best Bailey Blake matches we’ve seen to date, and the crowd was behind him all the way. Priest certainly didn’t need to get by with a little help from his friends Steven Michaels and reigning champ Derek Neal either. This was a solid one-on-one fight that had Blake coming back from everything Priest threw at him. In the end, though, it was Priest who came through with the win after a brutal frog splash from the top rope right on to Blake in a prone position in the center of the ring. Devastating finish to a fantastic match.

Match 4: Erron Wade vs. Shean Christopher
Speaking of giving a warm welcome to a new attitude, this match between Baby Dragon and Mr. Tuesday Night was a display of what Shean Christopher can do on his own. I love to see it; this breaking out and going solo was the best thing Shean could have done in a year that anything could happen. I’m glad to see Erron Wade going solo against top talent in the promotion as well; New South is known for its strong tag team division but it’s great to see their roster can go one on one at any given time. Erron represented the Dojo Boyz well here, but Shean Christopher is on fire right now and he’ll let nothing stand in his way. Shean won this one decisively after hitting his brutal finisher (the Dirty Pretty!) and now I’m wondering what he’s got in store next for New South.

Main Event: Suge D vs. 2 Fly Ty
If anybody could put 2 Fly Ty in his place, it looked as if it would have to be Suge D to do so. Prior to the main event we saw two very resolute promos from both Suge and Ty. As it was, Suge wanted to be the one to dish out some well deserved discipline to the 2 Fly one. Ty has yet to see any consequences from his atrocious attack on his former tag partner and co-champ Dy-Lan, and with the latter’s career in the balance Ty doesn’t seem to care much about what anyone has to say about it. Suge, however, delivered a damn solid statement in this main event match. I have to say I really wanted to see Suge get the satisfying win over Ty and maybe even see the return of the injured Dy-Lan as an extra dose of revenge, but that wasn’t what we got for this particular episode. In fact, Ty’s mean streak continued as he got the dirty victory over Suge and taunted the audience by having Dy-Lan’s music played after the match. A cruel reminder from Ty that he’s the reason Dy-Lan’s out of action, but we can’t expect any less from him.

Post-Show Thoughts
This was a fine lead-in to this weekend’s event! Winter Warz looks like the beginning of a big ending to 2020 for New South. I’m pretty hyped to see what surprises are in store for this latest show and how upcoming episodes of Action Clash will be affected by the fallout. I don’t dare make any predictions for Saturday’s shindig, either. It’s all going to be so hectic that we should anticipate absolutely anything happening and nothing can be presumed but a damn good time!
