Enjoy Wrestling "Canned Heat" Season 2, Week 3

On episode 2 Lee Moriarty and Mr. Grim battled for the Enjoy Cup that Lee won last season and Grim had stolen and given to David Lawless Esq.  Earlier in the episode Lawless had Lee sign a contract and while he had Lee distracted Grim attached Lee from behind with a Christmas tree and appeared to severely injure Lee’s ribs.  The contract stated that in order for Lee to win his cup back he would need to defeat Mr. Grim on this day.  As Lee had been injured earlier in the episode, David Lawless tells referee Nick Shin to start counting out Lee.  Lee comes out to challenge Mr. Grim, but a battle against Grim when completely healthy is tough enough but with Lee already injured it is quite an uphill battle.  Grim continued to focus on Lee’s ribs throughout the match.   Lee would continue to fight back, but with every move Lee would grab his ribs, which would limit the opportunities for Lee to follow up and give Grim the chance to keep attacking his ribs.  Mr. Grim would finally wear Lee down enough to pick up the victory with a bear hug after hitting him with a power bomb.  Mr. Grim puts Lee in a body bag, as a warning to the Enjoy locker room on what may happen to them if they come for himself or David Lawless Esq.

The other match on episode 2 was YOKAI, Yoya and Janai Kai against Kings of the District, Eel O’neal and Jordan Blade.  This match was an excellent back and forth match involving 2 of the best tag teams in independent wrestling.  YOKAI got the early advantage using their speed and double team maneuvers.  Kings of the District were able to take back control of the match until Yoya hits Eel with an incredibly impressive step-up Code Red.  YOKAI take out Jordan Blade with some double team maneuvers, but Eel O’neal drops Yoya with a lariat from behind to pick up the win.   Both of these teams were very impressive and this win with give Jordan Blade and Eel O’neal some momentum going into The Odyssey at the end of the season.  We will see if either of these teams will end up in the ring together in the Odyssey and if they will work together or take the every person for themselves mentality.

Week 3 will feature a high-flying battle between Façade and Tre Lamar.  These are 2 of the best and most creative highflyers in wrestling today.  Façade will have the homefield and the experience advantage, as he is from Pittsburgh and has been creeping while you are sleeping since 2006.  Façade has been known to dive off of anything and come at you from any angle.  He likes to walk the ropes and catch you by surprise and is even known to do a Van Terminator from the middle of the ring ropes.  Tre may not have had the time in the ring that Façade has but he has made up for it with the amount of high profile matches that he has had in his young career.  Tre is currently the OWA Heavyweight champion, and defeated Impact star Ace Austin to win that belt.  It is no surprise that Tre is quickly becoming a star, as whenever you see him, he immediately grabs your attention with his charisma, and he was trained by 2 NXT Superstars in Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae.  Tre has made an appearance in Impact wrestling in the Super X cup tournament and may have had one of the biggest wins of his career last October at The Collective by defeating Alex Shelly and Lee Moriarty in a 3-way match.  This should be a very interesting match and could come down to who makes the first mistake on a high-risk maneuver, because once that mistake is made either one of these combatants will take advantage and follow up with a move that will leave you in awe.

The other match on week 3 will pit two of the best female wrestlers on the Enjoy roster and in independent wrestling as a whole, as we see Erica Leigh face Ziggy Haim.   This is bound to be a big match, as Erica is stating that she is a Big Lady Wrestler and Ziggy fights like she is a superheavyweight.  Erica likes to have fun eating Gummi Bears, honking at people, and saying “Pee Pee, Poo Poo” however once that bell rings she is one of the toughest people in wrestling.  Erica has been one of the most talked about wrestlers in the past year, whether that is from her “behavior” on social media or her big matches, she always seems to garner the attention.  Don’t let the wacky behavior of the 90’s Girl fool you though, she wasn’t just handed that Pro Wrestling Magic title, she had to defeat one of the most villainous and tactically sound wresters in Darius Carter to obtain it, then chose Dan Champion as her first defense.  She will not be defending that title in Enjoy but will have her eyes on winning the Odyssey at the end of the season.  Ziggy Haim will look to stop Erica’s momentum and will most likely have some help from her partner in The Production, Derek Dillinger, to do just that.  Ziggy had been a huge favorite of the fans in the Pittsburgh area and wherever she went, but that changed whenever she decided to join The Production and take a more sinister approach to her matches.  There is no doubt that Ziggy can beat almost anyone on her own, as she has defeated the likes of Promise Braxton, Shawn Phoenix and Brooke Valentine, but she will be an even tougher opponent to defeat with Derrek in her corner.  Ziggy has that never say die attitude that will work well for her in this match, since she is giving up some size, as she typically does, she will need to find creative ways to put Erica away.  The Production found a way for Derrek to get a victory in Episode 1, so we will see if they can keep that momentum going or if the Big Lady Wrestler, Erica Leigh, can overcome the numbers advantage and get some momentum going for herself heading toward The Odyssey.
