Welcome to the first PWIntoxicated Weekly. Over the course of a wrestling week a lot of things can fall through the cracks of a never stopping internet content machine. So, PWIWeekly is a look back at the week that was independent pro wrestling.
I know that the top 15 listing will be scrutinized - and that's great. It's a work in progress here at bWb, honestly. I think the current "recipe" is pretty straight forward and we can expand upon it in future issues of PWIntoxicated Weekly. To unveil a little of the mystery, the top 15 is voted up three people: Myself and two rotating members of the voting panel. One will always be a member of the twitter indie wrestling community and the other an active wrestler on the independent wrestling scene.
This week we were treated to a lot of amazing wrestling over the course of the week and one can only imagine that as the summer days get warmer (Wait, are we even in summer yet?) rings all around the U.S will be filled with talent. It's starting to really get exciting.
Have a great week!

"Magic In The Air In Worcester"
By Dennis DuBay
With no offense to Kaia McKenna and her witchy magic, there seems to be some sort of Women's Power magic goin' on at the White Eagle in Worcester, MA. For the second straight card, the roster of Women's Wrestling Revolution PLUS has lived up to and in some ways far exceeded anything fans were hoping for.
From match one to the main event there wasn't a moment during the show that I looked at the clock with despair - well, only despair when I knew time was running out on the show.
The show opened with new sensation Megan Bayne battling toe to toe with Riley Shepard in a match that, going into the show, I figured Shepard would win. I'll be very transparent in the knowledge that I do not know that much about Bayne - but it's become VERY clear to me that she is on the brink of superstardom.
In fact I told the bumwinebob.com wrestling staff that I wouldn't be surprised if Bayne ended up in AEW or WWE before the end of the summer. She has the look, the confidence, the poise and the in-ring talent that just oozes STAR; but she also has that IT-Factor that elevates a talented wrestler to ELITE status.
Shepard took the loss but make no mistake, she's a star on the up and up as well - blossoming in the covid era of wrestling, she took the opportunities given and carved out a spot in this scene for herself.
In the "main event," (I feel like all these matches had a main event feel to them) Trish Adora continued her rise to the top of the wrestling food chain with a victory over Davienne - Adora, beloved so much, actually got the Worcester fans to BOO Davienne!
The Kings of The District (Jordan Blade & Eel O'Neal) made their presence known and their intentions clear with a very strong victory over the team of Becca & Erica Leigh. It's so fun watching Leigh in the ring. You can tell she's having the time of her life and she's such a solid damn wrestler. I feel like a lot of people are sleeping on her talents because she isn't gung-ho serious all the time - but mark my words, she's going to be a powerhouse in this promotion as long as it keeps going.
Which, it's going to be around for at least another month, with the announcement of the next show: Sunday, July 18th, 2021.
Ashley D'Amboise stole a victory from the claws of Tina San Antonio, who dominated much of the 8 minute match with just sheer aggression - wouldn't be surprised to see a rematch between these two next month.
Speaking of rematches, pro wrestling's favorite Witch, Kaia McKenna exacted revenge on the "chihuahua-pitt" (Trademark pending) Little Mean Kathleen; showing the "not-so" nice Witch with a brutal arm-drag pop ya shoulder out ya fucking body maneuver (I'm not good with wrestling move names).
Alisha Edwards couldn't keep her anger issues in check and earned herself a DQ loss to Kennedi Copeland, while Team Sea Stars defeated High Society in an impromptu match.
Masha Slamovich found herself in a situation she rarely finds herself - in the loss column - by the hands of Worcester's favorite wrestler (did you hear the pop Willow got?), Willow Nightingale. Something tells me that this defeat won't sit well with Slamovich and we haven't seen the last of these two.
Just another great couple hours of quality wrestling with subtle storytelling and commentary that didn't offend you.
You can watch the replay on IWTV.Live.

#FansMakingTowns: ACW Wisconsin
By OlskoolOlFool
On a sunny and warm Friday eve I ventured north to Oshkosh, WI, to make good on a promise made some 8 months prior. When I first met Swoggle, it was at an AIW show in Indianapolis, IN, on Labor Day weekend of 2020. As we chatted, he asked where I was from and when I mentioned my little WI town that's fairly close by he inquired, "Ever come up to my shows?"
I hung my head low, sadly said no and told him I'd fix that.
Held in the town's almost 100-year old Masonic Center, the show I caught was a lot of fun. They made very good use of the building: a merch room in a reception area on the first level while the ring was set up on the second in a ballroom. All the windows were open to pull in the breeze off of Lake Winnebago and big fans were pushing it around the room, but hot action with a fired-up crowd kept things toasty. A couple concession stands were on that second floor: one for adult beverages and the other with everything else. Concessions and tickets were very reasonably priced. As an example, my 2nd row seat was around $18 after fees.
ACW Wisconsin seems to have a pretty solid core of fans, judging by the amount of season ticket badges I saw in the first couple rows of seats. That makes me happy because they use a lot of Wisconsin talent: Swoggle himself, Joey "Jet" Avalon, Nick Colucci and Sierra, to name a few.
I'd surely check them out again as it was a quality night of wrestling that was quite kind to my wallet. Their next show is July 16th in Neenah, WI, at Willie Beamon's Bar & Grill. See what ACW Wisconsin is up to on Facebook and on Twitter.

One Million Blocks & We Get Our Revenge!
By Dennis DuBay
If you have kids you've probably stepped on a lego or two - and in those moments you've probably said words that will get you in trouble with your church unless you are a godless maniac like myself.
But you screamed at the top of your lungs and wanted someone to pay for the pain you are feeling; yet you can't dole out that revenge on your child, right?
So you lay there on the floor crying, maybe even slamming a bottle of rum regardless of time or responsibilities because we mask our pain with booze and make our best and worst decisions on said booze.
But what If I told you that there's a new way to get your revenge? Well, boy howdy, do I have an alternative:
What is that, exactly? Let me let them tell you:
Born in 2005 - Inter Species Wrestling is a professional wrestling group based out of Canada and the United States. Thinking outside the box and running shows that are quite different from the wrestling shows you’re used to – we fancy ourselves as “wrestling for people who don’t like wrestling.”
... read more from their Kickstarter
Basically, this is the long story summarized: They want to promote a death match (wrestling terminology for: bad idea jeans) with the most "brightly colored blocks) in the history of professional wrestling: ONE MILLION.
They are slowly getting close to the goal - now is the time to jump in with your $MJF riches and help us gain that revenge we've long dreamed upon on our insolent children.

WTF is CFU?
By OlSkoolOlFool
When I first saw bits and pieces about this new promotion on Twitter, every wee crumb of info got me more and more intrigued. Women's promotion? Cool, we can always use more of those! Shoot-Style? I'm enjoying things like Bloodsport and UWFi Contenders, works for this fan.
The names started getting dropped as for which athletes were on board, some of the toughest and brightest on the Indies, all primed to throw down. The excitement built further still.
Then, that trailer.
"Traditional" pro wrestling steel cage, no ropes, a familiar tune...my brain was cooking trying to take it all in. I absolutely had to learn more before the debut on Thursday June 24th at 8E/7C on the award-winning IWTV (independentwrestling.tv).
Here's the results of my rampant curiosity in the form of several questions which the folks at CFU were kind enough to answer.
What is CFU?
CFU: "Combat Fights Unlimited is a shoot-style promotion looking to more fully blend the worlds of professional wrestling and mixed martial arts. Specifically, we lean more towards the "old-school" era of MMA, with one-night tournaments, fighters representing specific disciplines, and less-regulated fight attire/gear."
Please describe the CFU concept.
CFU: "The CFU rules are similar to the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, but with a few key differences. Rounds are three minutes instead of five, as in amateur MMA. In addition, things like 12-6 elbows and soccer kicks are not considered fouls under CFU rules. Contests CANNOT end via pinfall, only by knockout, submission, referee stoppage, or judge's decision if the bout goes the distance."
How did you come up with the idea?
CFU: "Honestly, it's just something I always wanted to see. Nobody was mixing MMA and pro wrestling QUITE like this (though some shows/promotions have come close). Finally, I just decided the heck with it, I'll do it myself."
Who can we all expect to see?
CFU: "The roster for this first show has been fully revealed. We have a few names we'd love to bring in for any future shows that for various reasons (time, scheduling, and even contract issues), we were unable to get this time. In terms of who we'd want to "highlight," there's the tournament participants themselves, obviously, but we also have Allysin Kay taking on Edith Surreal in a non-tournament "Superfight," a la early UFC PPVs."
What are some of the not-so-obvious things that make CFU different from what's out there?
CFU: "For whatever reason, no one has ever done shoot-style bouts in a wrestling cage, but without ropes. It seemed like the most obvious thing in the world to me if you're trying to mix those two disciplines, but for some reason no one does it. We're also broken up into rounds, with judges scoring each round individually a la the Impact Grand Championship or even old-school AWF. It's cliché as hell, but we're definitely going for more of a "real sports feel."
Any hopes for live events in the future?
CFU: "Absolutely. Stay tuned for more on that in the somewhat-near future!"
In one sentence, why should people tune in to the June 24th debut on IWTV?
CFU: "Because it's never been done."
"To my knowledge, no one has ever had a one-night, eight-woman shoot-style tournament, and DEFINITELY not under these rules. It is quite literally something you cannot get anywhere else."
Please, check out that before-mentioned trailer here.

Recap - Freelance Underground "Back to Church Street Part Brew"
By Dennis DuBay
One of my favorite things about indie wrestling in 2021 is, honestly, each show I watch, I go into without any expectations. I'm just damn glad that I'm able to watch a live pro wrestling show again.
I decided to watch Freelance Undergrounds "Back to Church Street Part Brew," stream on IWTV. For once in my life, I'd made the right choice!
From the solid opening match of Storm Grayson versus JJ Garrett to the hard hitting FU Heavyweight title match that saw GPA retain his belt against big man Calvin Tankman, there was a little something for everyone on last nights show.
It was also a night of surprises, too.
Kylie Rae returned to Freelance Underground and boy did that get the crowd on their feet. Rae took on Freelance student Angel Escalera in a really sold 12 minute match that saw Rae sprinkle in some heelish moves and behavior against Escalera, who looked to shock the wrestling world with a victory over Kylie.
Alas, it wasn't to be, as Rae's experience was just too much for Escalera. At one point, Rae threatened to leave the ring, not happy with the reffing of the match - going as far as putting her backpack back on ... only to use it as a weapon!
I'm all for heel Kylie. Sign me up.
And then Laynie Luck & Billie Starkz decided to steal the show, the night, the week (in my opinion) with an amazing match. This was my favorite thing of the week from the start - Billie was a bit more sassy in the ring, playing some mind games with Laynie.
But once the opening minutes had passed, the women decided to beat the living hell out of each other with a back an forth battle that showed, to me, a new found confidence in herself, for Starkz.
She just moved around the ring with a controlled abandonment of fear, continually finding ways to strike Luck, whether it was a traditional strike or some on the spot improvisational move dictated by Luck's aggressiveness.
Just a superb match. Also, stop telling me Starkz is a young woman learning as she goes. She's arrived. Summer of 21 is going to be amazing to watch.
Check out the show on IWTV - they've already uploaded it for you dorks who went out instead of staying in for the rassles!
