Indie Wrestling Wire - Magic In The Air As WWR Plus Returns To Action

With no offense to Kaia McKenna and her witchy magic, there seems to be some sort of Women's Power magic goin' on at the White Eagle in Worcester, MA. For the second straight card, the roster of Women's Wrestling Revolution PLUS has lived up to and in some ways far exceeded anything fans were hoping for.

From match one to the main event there wasn't a moment during the show that I looked at the clock with despair - well, only despair when I knew time was running out on the show.

The show opened with new sensation Megan Bayne battling toe to toe with Riley Shepard in a match that, going into the show, I figured Shepard would win. I'll be very transparent in the knowledge that I do not know that much about Bayne - but it's become VERY clear to me that she is on the brink of superstardom.

In fact I told the bumwinebob.com wrestling staff that I wouldn't be surprised if Bayne ended up in AEW or WWE before the end of the summer. She has the look, the confidence, the poise and the in-ring talent that just oozes STAR; but she also has that IT-Factor that elevates a talented wrestler to ELITE status.

Shepard took the loss but make no mistake, she's a star on the up and up as well - blossoming in the covid era of wrestling, she took the opportunities given and carved out a spot in this scene for herself.

In the "main event," (I feel like all these matches had a main event feel to them) Trish Adora continued her rise to the top of the wrestling food chain with a victory over Davienne - Adora, beloved so much, actually got the Worcester fans to BOO Davienne!

The Kings of The District (Jordan Blade & Eel O'Neal) made their presence known and their intentions clear with a very strong victory over the team of Becca & Erica Leigh. It's so fun watching Leigh in the ring. You can tell she's having the time of her life and she's such a solid damn wrestler. I feel like a lot of people are sleeping on her talents because she isn't gung-ho serious all the time - but mark my words, she's going to be a powerhouse in this promotion as long as it keeps going.

Which, it's going to be around for at least another month, with the announcement of the next show: Sunday, July 18th, 2021.

Ashley D'Amboise stole a victory from the claws of Tina San Antonio, who dominated much of the 8 minute match with just sheer aggression - wouldn't be surprised to see a rematch between these two next month.

Speaking of rematches, pro wrestling's favorite Witch, Kaia McKenna exacted revenge on the "chihuahua-pitt" (Trademark pending) Little Mean Kathleen; showing the "not-so" nice Witch with a brutal arm-drag pop ya shoulder out ya fucking body maneuver (I'm not good with wrestling move names).

Alisha Edwards couldn't keep her anger issues in check and earned herself a DQ loss to Kennedi Copeland, while Team Sea Stars defeated High Society in an impromptu match.

Masha Slamovich found herself in a situation she rarely finds herself - in the loss column - by the hands of Worcester's favorite wrestler (did you hear the pop Willow got?), Willow Nightingale. Something tells me that this defeat won't sit well with Slamovich and we haven't seen the last of these two.

Just another great couple hours of quality wrestling with subtle storytelling and commentary that didn't offend you.

You can watch the replay on IWTV.Live.
