The baddest wrestlers in the US return to battle in Season 4 of Paradigm Pro Wrestling's UWFi Contenders Series.

What I love about Paradigm Pro's UWFI series is that it's completely impossible to guess the outcomes of these style of matches.

The UWFi rules plays the role of the third man, in my mind, in this series. I also like how PPW puts the odds for competitors for each match.

Something like this offers the ability to create a fan interaction. I wish the old Sandbox Sports of the 90's were still around we could implement some sort of betting system for fun with these matches.

The unpredictableness of the UWFi rules struck early when "Underdog" Freddie Hudson tapped out Tyler Voxx, who was the "favorite" to win. I think the oddsmakers may have been drinking a few drinks when they put Hudson down as the underdog, but that's just my opinion.

Watching the evolution of Big Beef has been something else. Seeing him transform not only his body but his mentality inside and outside the ring has been one of my favorite things on the indie scene. There are very few athletes in the game that have shown so much passion, and the willingness to fight for that passion, then Beef. Lobo Okami is a big dude, but he looked small and slow against a very determined Big Beef.

If Beef continues this path, I could see him becoming a staple in Japan - the next Stan Hansen.

Another thing that PPW does really well is bringing in new talent that other indies don't, won't or can't. I'm an instant fan of this Persia Pearce. Killa Kate is no slouch in the ring and Pearce came right at her with a lot of heart and intensity. I don't know much about Pearce, but Kate's experience proved too much for Persia to overcome.

Keep an eye on Pearse though. Kate however wants your attention right now ... well, Jordan Blades, attention, that's for sure. That'll be a helluva battle - but Killa might heed the phrase "be careful what you wish for ....".

PPW's roster is filled with tough fucking dudes - Lord Crewe is one of them dudes. He's had a few matches for Championship Wrestling from Atlanta, i'd like for him to jump over to the NWA for some more exposure and to maybe get rid of the trash talent that Billy is acquiring.

Side note - I think Crewe has the best beard in the business right now.

I was pretty impressed that Ryan Clark was able to survive as long as he did in this one. He seemed outmatched from the beginning but made a statement with this performance for sure.

Main Event for Episode One was a big one. Tom Lawlor is, in my opinion, one of the best fundamental wrestlers in the US right now - he makes everything look so easy in the ring and has a persona that few can emulate. In the opposite corner is Jordan Blade who has been racking up wins and respect wherever she goes.

While she wasn't able to overcome Lawlor this time, I'm pretty sure she gained his respect too. This was a helluva match with Blade getting a lot of offense in, but nothing that really stuck Lawlor, gaining control of the match for a spell and almost tapped him with a trapped leg, but Lawlor was able to rebound in time for the win.

Really fun first episode - moved quickly as you would expect. PPW continues to impress, not only in the ring, but the commentary and production values as well.
