As much as time seems to be standing still during the never-ending pandemic we are living in, it also feels like we're burning days faster than ever. I mean, as I sit here, it's February 11th already.
We've already had several huge celebrity deaths, God knows how many new Covid variants, and Joe Rogan has been cancelled three times in the last week.
All of those pales in comparison to my next point. First, let me explain something. I haven't ate at Pizza Hut in probably 15 to 20 years. I find their pizza sauce to be some of the most putrid sauces in the world. I don't do sweet sauce for pizza. I'm an adult. I don't need sugar and sweets on everything I eat. I understand this is going to trigger some people - I can't be bothered with the opinions of those who put pineapple on pizza and ketch up on hot dogs. I'll still love you, but your food opinions are suspect at best.
So, watching TV i was told about Pizza Hot Spicy Lovers pizza, and I was intrigued. Spicy anything is my bag. Well, maybe not pussy, that sounds like a medical issue.
Thursday night my Pizza Hut eatless streak ended - and here's the crazy thing: I ain't mad. I customized the pizza to include extra cheese and bacon. Did the bacon and extra cheese help to mute the sweet tones of The Hut's sauce? I don't think so - as your dedicated food reviewer - I took one slice of the za and pulled all the toppings and cheese off and consumed a sauce only slice and what I found was surprising.
It was, as advertised, spicy marinara with only slight notes of the sweet that Hut normally doles out. Listen, I ate 3/4's of this pizza (just hours after eating a few Flamin Hot Cool Rach tacos from Taco Bell - more on that later,).
The cupped pepperoni was an added bonus to this pizza. I've always contended that The Hut has the best cheese bread, which in the past 20 years is the only thing I've consumed of theirs whenever anyone I was around ordered PH. So the extra cheese was a great play.
Score: 7.6 out of 10.
SUPERBOWL PROP BETS and SB Prediction
It's Superbowl weekend and for the first time I'll be betting on some prop bets through FanDuel. So, here they are:
- Each team will score a rushing and passing TD. A $10 Bet pays out $43.00.
- Cam Akers to score first touchdown, Joe Mixon to score second TD. A $1.00 bet pays out $61.00.
- Tee Higgins scores first TD, Odell Beckham scores sencond TD. A $1.00 bet pays out $101.00.
- Cooper Kupp scores first TD, Ja'Marr Chase scores second TD. A $1.00 bet pays out $46.00.
- Cooper Kupp wins MVP. A $5.00 wager win's $32.50.
SB LVI projects to be a very close game, but we've all watched the SB in the past and one of two things will happen. Either the projections are correct, and the game is close for a little bit or it's a blowout from the start.
I think the Rams win, regardless, of the type of game LVI turns out to be. It's just another middle finger to the Detroit Lions OVERLY loyal fan base and a reminder that the Fords make shitty vehicles and football teams.
Prediction: Rams 31, Bengals 23.
FLAMIN' HOT COOL RANCH TACOS
You read that right - Taco Bell has jumped into the world of Flamin' Hot gimmicks, and folks they somehow made flamin' hot even better.
I wolfed down five steak tacos (I never get the seasoned beef, it just looks fucking weird) with the jalapeño sauce that I'd like to shoot into my body like a heroin junkie, and let me tell you man, it's a fucking game changer. I don't care what anyone says, those taco's were a religious experience. Hopefully they keep them on the menu for a little longer.
Rating: 9.1 out of 10.
The only reason it's not a perfect score is the shells never retain their crunch - these were no exception; a bit of sogginess prevents a perfect score.
FIGHT!
This week's 3 fight UFC Parlay comes from my brotha from another motha, Jack, who tossed in these three names:
Cannonier, Lewis & Whittaker. I threw $9 on the parlay, that, if it hits, will yield a $73.04 pay out.
That's all I got this week - let's do this again next week!
