Beer Of The Week - Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale - 10/16/15

It's that time of year once again. With the arrival of fall you begin to see a plethora of pumpkin beers invading your timeline and news feeds on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Prior to a couple years ago you would not fine me anywhere near the fall beers bandwagon, but after some constant persuasion to put down my bottle of Night Train Express and give one a try, I caved in and started to embrace some of the seasonal selections.

If you walk into any liquor store this time of year, the shelves are filled with a variety of different pumpkin beers. Some of these are good, and others...not so much. There is a big decision to be made. So where do you begin?

The BWB Beer Of The Week!
One of the first pumpkin beers I tried and enjoyed was the Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale. In comparison to other pumpkin beers, I did not find the taste of pumpkin to be too overpowering. With some other fall beers I feel that the brewers try too hard to make a beer taste like pumpkin to the point where it takes away from the overall enjoyment of the beer.

Give it a try this season!
The Harvest Pumpkin Ale comes in at 5.7% ABV and contains a nice mix of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and allspice. It was first crafted in 1995 and became the first nationally available pumpkin ale. Since then it has become a seasonal staple of the Blue Moon Brewing Company.

Grab a bottle and relax!
This is the perfect beer to enjoy on a nice cool autumn day while watching some football or while just hanging out on the back deck relaxing. I am happy to induct Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale as the BWB Beer Of The Week!
