Yards Poor Richard's Tavern Spruce Ale

Ever wanted to drink a bottle of soy sauce? This is the beer for YOU!

Even Ben Franklin looks disappointed in this beer.

Craft Beer Bob is making another appearance this week as we crack open a bottle of Poor Richard's Tavern Spruce Ale by Yards Brewing Company. A friend of mine gave me this bottle just about a year ago, and I have been waiting for the perfect time to crack it open to give everyone a fine beer/food pairing. I did have a sip of it when he drank one, so I already had an idea of the taste, but this will be the first time drinking an entire bottle while enjoying some leftover Chinese food.

Is Poor Richard's Tavern Spruce Ale the perfect compliment to some leftover sesame chicken and Lo Mein? Let's find out!

"Based on Benjamin Franklin’s original recipe, this one-of-a-kind deep amber ale calls for barley, molasses and essence of spruce. Locally sourced organic blue spruce clippings are steeped in a kettle to create an ale as approachable and engaging as the man himself." - yardsbrewing.com

Still tastes like soy sauce to me. What say you?
