Putting any list of "best wrestling matches" for any time period is an act of subjective madness. First, you have to watch basically every show there is to form a perfect public opinion. Which, there's no way humanly possible to do such a thing and still hold down a 40 hour a week job. So, this list is based on a few criteria: 1) I actually watched the show, 2) It had to be run by an American promotion or run in an American venue. Why? There are certain aspects of lucha libre and strong style that I don't neccesarily understand enough to critique in an expert like mindset. Also, I have to limit the content some how or i'll blow my brains out.
Based on the list, some things are evident. One, January was fucking bonkers with the amount of content available. In fact, this weekend is the first weekend in forever that there's been little on any of the streaming services (sans NJPW) to watch. It's actually been kind of nice, this lull. It's made me hungry for more. And it's coming. Oh. It's coming.
