WWE Raw | 2.17.20 | Everett, Washington | Angel of the Winds Arena
Recap by Chelsea Weiand
Randy Orton kicks off Monday Night Raw. It’s been 3 weeks since Orton attacked Edge and we still don’t have an answer as to why. Matt Hardy comes out, gets an RKO and attacked with a chair. This goes on for a while. I enjoy both of these guys, but I’m not feeling this feud. I also feel they wasted a lot of time with this segment, when they could have had a decent match happening.
Erick Rowan V. Aleister Black: First match of the night and its Rowan and Aleister. For once, neither of these guys are going against a jobber. I wasn’t sure which way this match was going to go, since both of these guys have been winning their matches, but I’m glad Aleister got the win.
If you watched NXT Takeover Portland, then you would have seen that Charlotte Flair attacked Rhea Ripley after retaining her title against Bianca Bel Air. I was waiting for Rhea to show up tonight while Charlotte was calling her out again, but nothing. I guess we’ll see on Wednesday what Rhea has to say about the attack.
24/7 Championship Triple Threat Match: R-Truth, Mojo Rawley and Riddick Moss. Moss retains. Stupid. I don’t get the point of this title anymore. Truth is the only one who makes that title mean something. The only highlight of this match was when Truth delivered a Five Knuckle Shuffle in honor of his childhood hero John Cena.
Drew McIntyre V. MVP: Drew McIntyre is more comfortable on the mic now and I am loving it. He can cut one hell of a promo. I don’t have anything to say about this match, other than McIntyre crushed MVP.
Becky Lynch empties out a bag of money in the ring and says this is a down payment on what she is going to do to Shayna. Shayna comes on the screen and cuts a decent promo. Says she is winning Elimination Chamber and is coming for Becky.
Garza and Lashley V. Rusev and Carrillo: I don’t understand these tag teams, but I’m not hating them. I really enjoyed this match. Garza gets the pin on Rusev. Seems like Garza is getting a nice push on Raw. I’m curious to see what happens when Andrade comes back.
Natalya V. Kairi Sane: This was an average match to watch. Kairi picks up the win via count out.
A Sermon from The Monday Night Messiah: Murphy and AOP are out here in the ring with a podium. Seth comes out and oh look, he is still trying to make that glove look good. Seth is grabbing the fans hands and blessing them. Hahaha. This is ridiculous. I feel like I’m in 8th grade being forced to sit through church. This is boring. Viking Raiders and K.O attack Seth, which leads to a main event match for tonight.
The OC!!!! We haven’t seen these guys in a little bit. It’s nice to have them back. I love when AJ is on the mic, he always makes me laugh. Ricochet with an interruption. He challenges AJ to a match, but Karl Anderson accepts it instead. Ricochet gets the pin on Anderson. I’m not surprised by this. Ricochet can’t lose a match a week before he has a big match coming up.
Promo from Liv Morgan talking about Ruby Riott betraying her…..that’s about all from that.
K.O & The Viking Raiders V. Murphy & AOP in a 6 Man Tag Match for our main event. Although I’m not a fan of Murphy & AOP as Seth’s “disciples”, I do enjoy watching them in the ring. K.O and Murphy was going great and then this commercial popped up and I got distracted. Now I want Popeye’s Chicken and some Digiorno Pizza. Oh great, now KFC! This has been one hell of a match. K.O pretty much had the win on Murphy, but Seth gets involved. Holy shit! The Street Profits come out to help K.O and The Viking Raiders. I love when Montez Ford takes the Ultimate Warrior’s rope shake to a whole new level! These guys are impressive in the ring and awesome on the mic. I would love to see them get the Tag Team Titles in the near future.
Overall, I really enjoyed Raw tonight. It opened up kind of slow and boring with Orton and Hardy, but redeemed itself with Drew McIntyre. Garza/Lashley & Rusev/Carrillo match was interesting and fun to watch. The main event had a great end with The Street Profits coming to the aide of K.O and The Viking Raiders.
Until next week Wrestling Fam!
