Marquee Match Up: NY Guardians v. DC Defenders
Filed by Dennis DuBay

The Guardians didn't give up a touchdown against the Tampa Bay Vipers, yielding just three points in their 23-2 victory. The Defenders scored four touchdowns (second most in the league, week one) against Seattle, defeating the Dragons 31-19.

Cardale Jones is the key to this game. If he plays as he did in week one against the Guardian's defense, DC has a really good chance at winning this game. Jones was 16-of-26 for 235 passing yards and two TD strikes. Jones has the highest QB rating in the league, with 116.7, while NY's is #3 with an 82.8 rating.

NY's defense was led by Wesley Sutton, who recorded two sacks in the opener. Bryce Jones and Andrew Soroh both had interceptions for the Guardians.

Marquee Matchup: St. Louis Battlehawks @ Houston Roughnecks
Filed by Chris Belcher

According to Pro Football Focus, the Battlehawks and Roughnecks are the top two offensive and defensive teams in the XFL. Houston QB P.J. Walker is coming off a spectacular game where he threw 4 TDs to four different receivers and was named Player of the Week in the league.

He will square off against a Battlehawks defense who didn’t allow a TD in Week 1, surrendering 3 FGs, forced a turnover and had 4 QB sacks.

On the other side, the Battlehawks have a very balanced offense QB Jordan Ta’amu and RB Matt Jones. It will be interesting to see how they matchup against a Houston defense, who is leading the league in sacks and yards per play, all while forcing 3 turnovers in Week 1.
