AEW Dynamite Review 2/12/20

By: Maria Rose

Once again, this week’s Dynamite episode had a nice flow to it. It seems like each week gets better and more interesting. I’m always looking forward to what’s coming next.

The opening match for this weeks Dynamite episode is for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. A little surprised that a title match opened the show, but I like it.
It’s SCUs Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian vs Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page. Great match and I’m so impressed with Hangman. He’s so damn good.
Omega and Page pick up the win and keep the titles, but for how much longer I wonder?

SCU is still in the ring and The Dark Order come out followed by Best Friends, The Butcher and The Blade, Hybrid 2 and The Young Bucks. A prelude to next week’s tag team battle royal.
Looks like it will be a good one.

Now we see JR interviewing Santana, still bandaged and wearing sunglasses from being stabbed in the eye by Moxley, who reveals to us that his father is blind. It kind of made me feel bad for him but then he insists that Moxley deserved to be stabbed in the eye for not joining the Inner Circle, so no, I don’t feel bad.

With Darby Allin still injured, we get to see a video of him challenge Sammy Guevara to a match at Revolution. YES! I want to see this match. I can’t see one second of it being dull.

The 2nd match of the night is Sammy Guevara vs Dustin Rhodes. Although this was a predictable outcome with Dustin Rhodes winning in his hometown, I wasn’t expecting him to call Jake Hager Jerichos bitch, then challenging him to a match at Revolution. His first one in AEW. Could be good.

Next, Tony interviews Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D and even though I didn’t understand a word of her dentist talk, she did a great job of catching heat and getting booed by the crowd. I like her a lot.

Up next is Nyla Rose vs Riho for the AEW Women’s Championship. This was my favorite match of the night. Both women put on a great match. I honestly thought Riho would somehow manage to get the win and retain, but Nyla ended up winning it and becoming the new AEW Women’s Champion. Congratulations to Nyla! I’m looking forward to seeing more of her.

Backstage Jericho drops an absolute huge surprise on us and says Moxley will be seeing Jeff Cobb next week!
My jaw dropped because I had no idea he was heading to AEW! Awesome.

Now we have MJF vs. Jungle Boy. Both wanted to go at it alone and without back up and sent Wardlow and Luchasaurus to the back. Good match. I think both kept the match interesting with their moves. MJF was cocky as usual and towards the end of the match Wardlow comes out and puts the ring on MJFs finger, which he uses to pick up the win.
As much as I like Jungle boy, MJF did what he had to do. A win is a win.

The main event is Jon Moxley vs Santana. Eye for an eye match?
I did think that Moxley would be the one to pick up the win and Inner Circle would come out and go after him, which I was right. However, I was NOT ready to see Jeff Cobb so soon! It was awesome to see him with the Inner Circle and I can see him dominating in AEW.

Next week’s show is looking good with Cody vs Wardlow in the steel cage match. The tag team battle royal is also going to be a good one. As always, can’t wait until next week’s show!
