Routinely one of the coolest show's on the wrestling calendar, Joey Janela's "Spring Break" shows have left a historical imprint on the wrestling scene.

The formula for the Spring Break brand is simple: Janela takes on a legend of the business or an up-and-coming star, while also booking the top talent on the indie scene.

A great tag team match up between The Rascalz & Ironbeast, Jonathan Gresham taking on Lee Moriarty and Alex Shelley going up against Tony Deppen would all be main event's on different shows .. but this show is stacked.

It also marks the end of the road for Matt Tremont - JJSB will be Tremont's last match in a GCW ring as he has announced his retirement.

Showcase Matches:

JOEY JANELA v. RICKY MORTON

Who would have thought that in 2020 we'd be seeing Ricky Morton wrestling in a GCW ring? Well, I mean, 2020 has been pretty fucked up, so I guess anything can and will happen.

Morton and take team partner Robert Gibson had a bit of a resurgence in 2019/20 - regaining the NWA World Tag Team Titles on NWAPowerrr episode 9 in October of 2019. They've also appeared on AEW tv several times. And the thing of it is, Ricky Morton can still wrestle. At 64 years of age, he doesn't look totally lost out there.

Janela doesn't get enough respect for his ability in and out of the ring - and if there is anyone who can read the needs of the fans, it's Janela. The fans want something different, and JJSB always delivers.

TEAM PAZUZU v. BLAKE CHRISTIAN, ALEX ZAYNE and JORDAN OLIVER

For me, when I think of Indie Wrestling, right now the first two dudes I think of are Chris Dickinson and Alex Zayne - and at JJSB4, they will compete in six man tag action.

Team Pazuzu consists of Dickinson and AEW superstars Ortiz & Santana - While Zayne is teamed with two of the rising studs of indie wrestling, Blake Christian and Jordan Oliver.

Christian and Oliver, you may remember, caught the ire of Jim Cornette - so that alone should give you reason to tune into this match.

Zayne hasn't been in action much lately but I doubt ring rust will play a factor in his performance. Zayne is a one of the most impressive talents in the business today - one that, when things get back to "normal", i see picking up a contract.

It'll come down to the classic Power v. Gravity, and there's no denying Chris Dickinson is one of the most powerful indie wrestlers on the circuit today - you add a talented team like Ortiz & Santana, and you'll see what true, unbridled aggression looks like.

ACH v. LIO RUSH

The ACH/Lio Rush match has the potential to be the match that steals the whole weekend. We know of the past for both these highly talented, under utilized athletes in their time in the "big leagues," - and while this match would have been a perfect fit in Friday's "For The Culture," show ... it makes absolute sense that it's on this show.

Talent should transcend boundaries, boxes, ideals - and regardless of where this match took place, it's an important match in the sense that these two almost lost their desire to continue on with a business I presume they both love as much as anyone else wrestling this weekend.

Win, lose or draw - we'll all be standing by the end of this match. In solidarity and in awe of two of the finest wrestlers in the world.
