The Collective:  Paradigm Pro Wrestling Presents Trapsoul #CallOffMonday Recap

Closing out a huge event is never an easy task, but Paradigm Pro provided many memories as they presented the last card of the Collective 2020 late Sunday night.  One could say they provided three mini-cards, as the event had a unique set-up: 3 wrestling matches, 3 UWFi Rules matches and 3 hardcore matches.  This brought tons of varied action and you could feel the stakes rise as the night went on.  Here's how it went down:

Suge D defeated O'Shay Edwards

Suge jumped O'Shay at the bell, laying in what strikes he was able.  Edwards stopped that with a combo of suplexes followed by an F-5.  The Big Bad Kaiju put the bad mouth on Suge and blasted him with another F-5.  After giving Suge some time to recover yet again, O'Shay hoisted him up into a torture rack and Suge slipped out, throwing a barrage of strikes yet again.  Edwards stopped him with a fully body block and tried a Kaiju Driver, but Suge wiggled out again and threw on a sleeper hold.  O'Shay would continue getting out of the sleeper, Suge would find a way to go back to it three seperate times.  Suge then went to small joint manipulation on the fingers and wrist, eventually snagging an armbar.  Suge then showed zero fear and gave Edwards a wicked arm snap that surely made Pentagon Jr. smile, wherever he was.  O'Shay uncharacteristically screamed in pain and the ref almost stopped the match.  After being threatened by Edwards, the official let it continue.  Edwards bounced back with suplexes and a big powerbomb...not enough.  Suge found the armbar again, O'Shay screams all murder again and this time, the ref calls it.  A wicked promo by an all business Suge ended with his claiming the Kaiju mask of O'Shay.

MidwestTerritory.Com Championship:  Chase Holliday (c) defeats Sonico to keep the chain

Shenanigans ensue at the bell once more as Sonico spews red mist all over Holliday.  The Lucha Ghoul lands a dropkick, another kick and part of a dive on a blinded, disoriented Chase.  On the outside, Sonico works over the hand and fingers of Holliday on the ringposts.  They roam the arena floor with Sonico lighting Chase up with side kicks and continued work on the hand.  Once back to the squared circle, Chase fires back with a series of chops and repeated clotheslines.  Sonico retorted with a ton of knees while keeping Chase in a cravate.  A cradle DDT got a 2 for Sonico, a Brownbuster scored a 2 count for Holliday.  Sonico came back with kicks again, including a wicked buzzsaw-style shot.  Chase found his roughly fourth wind, landed two giant backfists and pinned the Ghoul to keep the championship chain.

Tankman's Traditional #Night4 Naptown Elimination 9 Person Scramble Match

Billie Starkz defeated Brayden Lee, Miles Morales, Freddie Hudson, Juicy Finau, Adam Slade, Zay Washington and Shawn Kemp

Calvin Tankman was to be in this match but opted out after his Bloodsport match prior.  It was announced that the winner would get a match with Calvin on a future event, presumably for a chance to move up the ranks in Paradigm.

A whole bunch of dives and multi-wrestler madness started this one.  Slade went after the big man Finau straight away at the bell with a big forearm.  He went for a dive on Finau and Billie did as well.  Billie came up quite short it appeared and took a nasty spill.  As she was getting checked on a dive sequence was underway.  Bodies were flung everywhere: a huge Shooting Star from Miles, a clean landed-on-his-feet Fosbury Flop from Brayden, a giant tumbleweed from Juicy and Zay with a Super Crazy-esque dive from the bleachers.  Once the action found the ring again it settled into more one-on one affairs as others recovered. Juicy had a strong string of offense but eventually the eight others ganged up on him.  Slade hit Finau with the biggest “Deal” Falcon Arrow I've ever witnessed (with everyone's help) as all hopped on for the monkey pile pin.  Another big Shooting Star from Miles got the pin on Derringer.  Zay landed a Spiral Tap and pinned Miles.  Hudson landed two different powerbombs on route to a pinfall on Zay.  Lee eliminated Freddie after Emerald Flowsion.  Adam Slade pins Lee after crashing him onto Kemp with an inverted suplex.   Kemp hits a pounce on Slade, then a rebound lariat for the win.  Starks and Kemp are left at the end.  Kemp starts in with a flurry of forearms, Billie works her way out of trouble with a series of kicks, hits a nice senton for a very close near fall and finally puts Kemp away with a German suplex.  Heckuva showing by the young starlet, especially after that bad landing early.

UWFi Rules:  Dominic Garrini defeats Kevin Ku

A show of respect between the two halves of Violence Is Forever starts us off.  Lots of mat grappling and no one with a clear advantage in the first couple minutes.  They exchange thigh kicks back and forth, Ku then gets a choke, Dom uses a rope break. Ku nails a suplex on the stand up.  Garrini shoots for a leg but Kevin transitions into a scorpion/sharpshooter, then a deathlock variant.  Dom reverses the pressure and Ku grabs the ropes.  Kevin nails a combo of strikes for a knockdown, Dominic responds in kind and Ku answers the count at 8.  He comes back with two rough head kicks and gets a knockdown on Dom who also is back up at 8.  Ku suplexes his way out of a choke attempt but Garrini snags a quick armbar and Kevin can't get away.  He taps and Dominic remains undefeated in UWFi matches in Paradigm Pro.

UWFi Rules: Flash Thompson defeats Cole Radrick

With Flash fully expecting a forfeit of this match, a stubborn Cole hobbled out anyway.  Worn down from his other matches over the weekend, there was still no chance that the “Wildheart” would simply give up.  Trading strong strikes to begin, Flash shot for a takedown but got caught in a rear naked choke and used a rope break.  During the next strike exchange Flash snuck in a punch to the face that floored Radrick.  After a follow-up kick knocked him down, Cole answered the count at 9.  Shortly after, a Thompson kneebar got the win over the already hurting Radrick.

UWFi Rules:  Erick Stevens' Retirement match-  “Hoodfoot” Mo Atlas defeated Erick Stevens

Erick was hot right after the opening bell with big strikes on Hoodfoot.  Mo fought out and threw Stevens to get some breathing room.  Erick took a standing armbar and rode it all the way to the mat, Atlas used a rope break.  After a quick tie-up Stevens then got a triangle choke in forcing Mo to grab the ropes again.  A stand up exchange of heavy shots then Erick grabs a double leg takedown.  For the third time in a rather short span, Atlas again with a rope break.  After this early lack of luck, Hoodfoot started taking over, landing knockdown-worthy suplexes and big shots.  A German suplex from Mo, but Erick pops back up!  Atlas responds with a club-like forearm and follows with ground & pound for a ref stoppage.

Erick left his boots in the ring and kissed the canvas, signaling his exit from pro wrestling.  A very appreciative crowd and roster cheered their gratitude on his way out of the ring.

PPW Heavy Hitters Championship contested under Hardcore rules:  Bobby Beverly (c) defeated Alex Colon

Bobby and his Forgotten Fight Team co-horts Flash and Rob got a warm heartfelt welcome via light tubes from Colon at the open.  This had Beverly busted open early after repeated tube shots and broken tubes being used as cutlery.  The opening minutes was all Alex as he took Bobby on a tour of the arena...a suplex on the bleachers, repeated 10-punch series, garbage can shots.  Once back to the ring, Bobby finally got back in the match.  A Saito suplex nabbed him a near fall.  Colon got a near fall of his own after a tree of woe double stomp and a dropkick into a trash can on Bobby.  Beverly missed a cannonball, landing on a board that looked to be covered with carpet strips.  Alex was blinded by some spooky dusty and Beverly hit him with a brainbuster onto an open chair for another 2 count.  A frustrated Bobby then walloped the ref.  Colon recovered during this time and came roaring back with strikes. A top rope Spanish Fly from Alex put Bobby down with no official there to count.  A double stomp onto a trash can from Colon got a 2 when the new official took over.  Sadly, the recovered Fight Team members interjected themselves once more, helping Beverly secure another tainted victory. A seated superkick with a bundle of light tubes in front of Colon's face while being held by Flash and Rob was the last gasp.

PPW Tag Team Championships, Reject's Rules:  The Rejects ( John Wayne Murdoch, Reed Bently & AKIRA) defeated Earl's Picks (Nolan Edward, Juicy Jimmy & Hardway Heeter)

This was messy, slap-dash hardcore with tons of weapons and plenty of blood.  Everyone started with a light tube in each hand  and it only ramped up from there.  The haze of spooky tube dust developed within the first couple minutes and hung over the ring.  Highlights included gusset plates, AKIRA's famous TubeTon, some fun & goofy tandem offense from the Rejects, a Jimmy tube-added Vader bomb and tons of general solid brawling.  The action was everywhere, a non-stop crazed sprint.  The Rejects sent Nolan Edward thru a flaming door with the Judd Nelson Driver to win and retain.

Clockwork Orange House of Fun:  Bradley Prescott IV defeated Matthew Justice

The ring was a magnificent cluster:  schoolyard-style wire fence panels, broken doors, trash cans and so many steel chairs.  Justice started in with chops and threw Bradley into a fence panel.  Prescott answered with two vertical suplexes on Matthew into the fence panels.  BP goes to work with a chair, repeated gut shots to Justice, who's begging to take a shot to the head.  Bradley respond with a love tap further enraging Justice.  A violent war continues, trading kendo stick shots and taking it to the outside.  Bradley clips Justice with a plancha, another dive that looked a wee bit short on my screen. More chair shots from BP, a seated slugfest on the floor that Bradley ends by throwing a chair at Matthew.  Back in the ring the trash talk got super salty, sailors were asking them to tone it down.  Bradley missed a splash to the outside while wearing a trash can over his head.  Justice got him back in the ring and took control with repeated stick shots, a White Russian leg sweep and an impact DDT...only got 2.  He then gave BP a Death Valley Driver through one of the fence panels and Prescott kicked out at 1!  Justice trapped him and hit more stick shots, shredding it.  Prescott was laid out on a trash can and Matthew threatened to hit him with a sideways chair shot.  Bradley quickly recovered, met Justice in the corner and sent him though the trash can with a 2nd rope package piledriver for the big win.

The Lost Boys (Chase Holliday, Mo Atlas, Adam Slade) joined BP IV in the ring for a celebratory Natural Light to end the show.
