Season 2 of Enjoy Wrestling’s Canned Heat premiers on YouTube
on Thursday, 6/17 at 8pm. The first season
gave us the Enjoy Cup tournament, which included MV Young, Willow Nightingale,
Mr. Grim, Shawn Phoenix, Edith Surreal, Lee Moriarty, Solo Darling and Ziggy Haim. Lee Moriarty defeated MV Young in an incredible
finals match to win the Enjoy Cup. However,
before Lee could even take the cup home he was attacked by Mr. Grim, who handed
the cup to David Lawless Esq. You have
to imagine that Lee will be looking for revenge against Mr. Grim and Lawless in season 2. Another
person who may have a target on their back is Ziggy Haim, as she stole Edith
Surreal’s mask after Edith defeated her in the tournament. Edith is currently out of action, but this thievery
could not have gained Ziggy too many friends in the Enjoy locker room. I feel that Ziggy may not be too concerned
about this however as she has brought a friend of her own, in her partner in
the Production, Derek Dillinger.
The Production has seen many changes throughout the years
and has included members such as Magnum CK, Eddy Only and Danhausen. This version with Ziggy and Derek seems very
sinister and they always seem like they have a plan. In the opening episode of season 2 of Canned
Heat Derek Direction takes on a young wrestler from Pittsburgh in Jayce
Karr. Derek will look to use his experience
advantage over the much younger Karr. Karr
is a very athletic but has not been in the ring nearly as long as Derek. Derek has become one of the top names in the PA/OH
area and beyond due to him constantly improving and learning new techniques, whether
they be new strikes or ways to bend the rules. I don’t think he really cares
how he gets the win as long as his arm is raised at the end of the match. Recently he has even found ways to use Ziggy
as a weapon in his matches, so Jayce is definitely going to have to be on the
lookout for that. Karr will have to use
his high-flying skills and speed to try to avoid Dillinger and Ziggy, but The
Production are going to be looking to make a name for themselves early and often
in season two.
The main event of episode one features 2 of the most popular
and sometimes controversial wrestlers in independent wrestling today in Allie
Katch and the leader of the PolyAm Cult MV Young. This should be a very intense and hard-hitting
match, as MV always hits hard, and Allie has made a transition of sorts as she
has taken off the whiskers and looks to be taken more seriously as a wrestler. Whether you like MV’s attitude in or out of
the ring, you cannot argue with his results.
MV always has people talking about him and is ready to take on any opponent. In fact, MV recently took on a gauntlet of
twinks at No Peace Underground’s “Fear the Gay Agenda” show. Once the bell rings MV is all business and so
is Allie Katch. Since ditching the Kat
persona Allie has been on a roll in AAW and also defeated Molly McCoy in a very
physical match at MV Young’s PolyAm Cult Party 3. MV Young is going to have the homefield advantage
in the match, as he is fighting in his hometown and in front of many members of
his cult. MV has to be disappointed that
he did not take home the Enjoy Cup last season and looks to climb his way up to
the top of the promotion and become the face of Enjoy Wrestling. However, he better not be looking past Allie
Katch as she has proven that she can wrestle and fight against anyone that steps
in the ring with her.
