#FansMakingTowns ACW Wisconsin 6/11/2021

On a sunny and warm Friday eve I ventured north to Oshkosh, WI, to make good on a promise made some 8 months prior. When I first met Swoggle, it was at an AIW show in Indianapolis, IN, on Labor Day weekend of 2020. As we chatted, he asked where I was from and when I mentioned my little WI town that's fairly close by he inquired, "Ever come up to my shows?"
I hung my head low, sadly said no and told him I'd fix that.
Held in the town's almost 100-year old Masonic Center, the show I caught was a lot of fun. They made very good use of the building: a merch room in a reception area on the first level while the ring was set up on the second in a ballroom. All the windows were open to pull in the breeze off of Lake Winnebago and big fans were pushing it around the room, but hot action with a fired-up crowd kept things toasty. A couple concession stands were on that second floor: one for adult beverages and the other with everything else. Concessions and tickets were very reasonably priced. As an example, my 2nd row seat was around $18 after fees.
ACW Wisconsin seems to have a pretty solid core of fans, judging by the amount of season ticket badges I saw in the first couple rows of seats. That makes me happy because they use a lot of Wisconsin talent: Swoggle himself, Joey "Jet" Avalon, Nick Colucci and Sierra, to name a few.
