Indie Wrestling Spotlight: A Tale of Two Worlds

This is what I love about professional wrestling - on Saturday afternoon I watched men try to kill each other in the ring to be named the GCW Tournament of Survival champion at GCW ToS666.

Hours later I watched the total opposite of the previous show, with Warrior Wrestling's return to action in it's "StadiumSeries" with a returning Kylie Rae. I mean, at one point, two men broke into a football game with the ref the "quarterback," ...

It is the second time that Kylie has returned to pro wrestling after abruptly leaving the scene over the course of the last couple years, beginning with her strange departure from All Elite Wrestling and then again most recently with Impact Wrestling in late 2020.

The crowd was boisterous for the effervescent Rae who would go on to successfully defend her Warrior Wrestling Women's championship against Holidead. Rae is scheduled for todays' NWA PPV, "When our shadows fall," in a tag match against Thunder Rosa.

At Tournament of Survival Alex Colon cemented his spot as the best death match wrestler in North America as he won the tournament for the third straight year, beating Bam Sullivan and Atticus Cogar to secure his spot in death match history.

Going into the tournament many thought this would be the night Cogar would take center stage and ascend to the throne of death match wrestling - or at the very least, I did. But Colon proved once again why his loudest supporters are so confident in their claims - Colon turned it up a notch against a field of wrestlers that many are saying put on the best ToS in it's history.

Highlight of the night is G-Raver dumping salt & vinegar chips on the bloody back of EFFY in their opening round match.

Deonna Purazzo, a former GCW Women's champion, looked fantastic in her match against Ray Lynn, in their match at Warrior Wrestling, as well.

You can watch both shows via Fite.TV
