La Parka has passed away; update on Tessa Blanchard story, NWA/ROH partnership.

News Points:

La Parka, Jesus Huerta Escoboza, has died.

While one career may now be in a holding pattern, another legendary performers life has come to a tragic ending. La Parka (Jesus Huerta Escoboza), 55, passed away on Saturday.

Huerta had sustained an injury during a match on the 21st of October with promotion Kaoz. Huerta attempted to tope onto Rush when he hit his head the floor and guardrail. Paralyzed as a result, Huerta was rushed to the hospital where life saving procedures were performed the following day.

He never recovered from his injuries.

Huerta is the second man to play the role of La Parka; not to be confused with World Championship Wrestling's La Parka, played by Adolfo Tapia. Tapia is the original La Parka, having also performed in AAA and ECW and currently wrestles for Major League Wrestling. Huerta became La Parka Jr in 1996 when AAA founder Antonio Pena sought to keep La Parka on his shows. When Pena and Tapia severed business ties, Huerta dropped the JR. gimmick.

Follow up on Blanchard fallout

In a story that becomes more and more muddied by the ease of information passed through the world wide web, things do not look good on the eve of what was supposed to be Tessa Blanchard's crowning achievement.

Blanchard, now just hours away from presumably the biggest match in the history of her career, is reeling from accusations from a myriad of female talent.

Yesterday we reported the tweets of Allysin Kay and Chelsea Green - well, the tweets didn't stop. Also jumping into the fray were AEW's Big Swole, independent wrestling superstar Priscilla Kelly, and La Rosa Negra. Negra is the female that Blanchard allegedly spit on and called the N-word.

Kay tweeted later in the day that the reason she hadn't come out sooner is Negra asked her not to come forward with the information, a story that Negra's friend, Renee Michelle corroborated in another tweet:

Blanchard has gone on record with two tweets; one denying Green's allegations and a tweet that doesn't bring up the racism claims, but clearly is based upon the claims that simply reads: not true. That's my statement and the most attention I'll give it because of how actually ridiculous it is.

We'll continue to monitor this situation.  Impact Wrestling goes live tonight with "Hard To Kill," live on Fite TV. It'll be interesting if this story is brought up at all.

Oh, and there was rumor she was paid to record herself pooping, in audio and talking dirty. Haven't heard the audio. Probably won't. Yikes.

NWA Invades ROH.

The big news coming out of ROH Center Stage last night is the apparent re-teaming of the NWA and ROH. At the conclusion of Marty Scurll's match, Nick Aldis appeared from the crowd and attacked Scurll then removed the cop shirt gimmick he was wearing to expose his NWA t-shirt.

Presumably the ROH/NWA partnership had died a few months back. When Scurrl appeared at the last NWA ppv, "Into the Fire", I had thought that may the NWA and AEW were no in bed together - but with the rumors of Marty resigning with Ring of Honor it looks like that's not going to happen.

Which begs the question. Before Wrestle Kingdom 14, was there a plan in place for an NWA/AEW partnership, but when it became very clear that NJPW was open to working with AEW that plan was put to pasture?

An interesting story is going on behind the scenes, I'm suspecting.

You can watch the replay of ROH Center Stage on Fite Tv; ROH returns to ppv tonight with Honor Reigns Supreme, also on Fite TV.

Tiffany Rose will be back covering GCW's latest ppv, "I Can't Feel My Face," which was another critically acclaimed show from fans, we'll have another The Wrestler's Spotlight as well.
