IWTV puts Innovation to work with The Masked Wrestler

Innovation is the key to growth in any industry. It doesn't matter if you're a fast food giant, a grocery store, or in this case, a streaming service catering to the independent wrestling fan.

I don't think i'm speaking out of turn when I say that IWTV.live is the leader in independent wrestling streaming - yes, there are other awesome services, Highspots Network, being another popular service to choose from,  but the pure vastness of the IWTV library is both stunning and daunting at the same time.

While IWTV's bread and butter is it's live streams, the library of previously aired shows including some of todays biggest promotions: GCW, Beyond Wrestling, AIW, Freelance Wrestling, Glory Pro, Black Label, S.U.P, make the 10 bucks a month (or $100 a year) seem like we're pirating content.

In 2019 IWTV ran 120 live streams (More than the WWE Network) and were positioned to do even more in 2020 with the merger of IWTV & SmartMarkVideo in January of 2020.

And then the pandemic halted everything. Promotions scurried to find ways to keep their talent paid while IWTV went to work trying to figure out a way to keep the lights on themselves.

On March 14th, they announced weekday streaming of past events. They kept bringing in new promotions. They brought in Deonna Purrazzo for an innovative feature looking at her career.

Then, on August 30th, they announced "The Masked Wrestler" - a tournament of mystery. Clearly someone at IWTV has been watching reality television and saw The Masked Singer; and I'm pretty damn happy they did.

The concept: Eight of the top independent wrestlers are disguised and will battle it out in a single-elimination tournament.

If you lose in the tournament, you must reveal your identity. From the press release, the series will run for seven episodes. Panelists are IWTV Wrestler of the year and AEW superstar Kris Statlander, former reality tv contestant Mr. Brickster and producer Billy Dixon. The show debuts October 14th at 10 PM EDT.

Now if you've never seen the Masked Singer, a lot of fun can be had with a show of this nature. IWTV on-air personality, J-Rose conveyed that message as well, hoping fans would immerse themselves in this unique wrestling universe.

It's innovation like this that keeps IWTV a must have for the wrestling fan.
