Indie Wrestling Spotlight: Limitless "The Road" season 3 ep 2 recap

Limitless "The Road" season 3 ep 2 recap by Don Halliwell

Maine State Posse vs CJ Cruz and Ricky Archer

You know it is going to be a good episode when one of the best tag teams in the country, MSP, open it up.  Danger Kid and Ricky Archer start match.   They exchange waist locks, and both go for quick roll up pins, but each only get a 2 count.  Aiden Aggro and CJ Cruz make blind tags and the action starts to pick up. CJ lands a couple kicks but misses the last and Aggro cartwheels out of a wrist lock.  Aggro hits a cartwheel elbow but CJ made a blind tag to Archer.  DK comes in and hits a senton on Archer off Aggro’s back. MSP both go for dives but get caught.  Archer goes over the top to the outside onto both members of MSP and CJ flips off the turnbuckle also crashing onto both of them.    CJ and Archer go for a double team cuter on DK but cannot execute it and DK takes out both of them and makes the tag to Aggro.  MSP hits a backpack senton on Archer for a near fall.  Aggro then hits a big suplex and makes the tag to DK, who gives Archer a big kick to the head.  Aggro comes in and they try to double team Archer, but he is able to escape and make the tag to CJ.  CJ comes in with a flurry of offense and takes out both members of MSP.  He hits DK with a blue thunder bomb, but Aggro makes the save.  CJ runs at Aggro in the corner, but Aggro cartwheels out of danger and hits a Biracial Facial followed by a snapmare driver, but Archer runs in the ring and hits Aggro with a leg drop to the back of the head from behind.   DK takes out Archer with a running knee and they are all on the mat. As they start to get up The Competition comes out and ruins the match.  They connect with the T gimmick on Aggro and Corner Chaos on DK.  They put their jerseys on MSP, take some selfies and pose standing above MSP.  This was a very good match until The Competition came out and ruined it.  If they want a match with MSP it looks like they got it, but they better watch out because the Maine State Posse look as good as ever and who knows what they are capable of now that The Competition has made them angry.

Rip Byson vs Love, Doug

This is going to be a tough challenge for Love, Doug, as Rip has won 3 in a row and Doug has yet to get a victory in Limitless.  Doug tries to stand toe to toe with Rip, which does not work.  He then tries to climb the turnbuckle but just gets dropped to the mat.  Rip hits Doug with some big chops, then  tries to pick up Doug but Doug slips away, kisses Rip and hits 3 consecutive dives onto Rip on the outside.  They go back in the ring and Doug hits a frog splash but only gets a 1 count.   He stomps on Rip and grabs a heart shaped piñata from under the ring.  He hits Rip in the head with it, but that only makes Rip mad.  Rip goes on the offense with multiple chops, but Doug is able to catch him with a boot when he is shot off the ropes.  Doug hits a forearm in the corner and goes for a bulldog, but Rip throws him across the ring.  Rip introduces Doug to all 4 corners, then hits a big lariat for the win.   No matter what you think of Love, Doug and you can rightfully think many things of him, he put up a hell of a fight against one of the toughest wrestlers in Limitless.

Jessie Nolan vs Alexander Lee

Jessie was in the crowd during Lee’s match last week, and she attacked him after he got in her face.  She says that he has changed and tries to intimidate the dojo students, but she is not afraid of him and that this girl on fire is going to unleash an inferno on him.  This is a teacher vs student match as Jessie is only in her second match and Lee was one of her trainers.  Nolan goes right after him at the bell and hits him with a flurry of forearms followed by a big clothesline.  Lee stops her offense momentarily, but Nolan hits a very powerful spear sending Lee to the outside to try to regroup.  Nolan is not going to give him that time as she catches him with a baseball slide and goes on the attack on the outside.  They continue to fight on the outside and Lee hits Nolan with a massive chop that has me cringing.  That only stuns Nolan for a moment as she fights back and gives Lee to Dangerkid, who is seated in the crowd.   DK holds Lee for Nolan and she gives him a receipt for that big chop that he gave her.  Nolan then drops Lee on the apron and hits a cannonball on him on the outside before rolling him in the ring for a near fall.    Nolan charges Lee, but Lee catches her and drops her headfirst into the turnbuckle and splashes on her for a near fall of his own.  He follows this up with a running meteora and then a big uppercut and a head butt.   He looks for backpack stunner, but Nolan fights out and hits a tornado DDT for a 2 count.  Lee starts to work on Nolan’s arm.  He smashes it into the mat and bites her fingers as he bends it back.  He hits an elbow drop on Nolan and then goes back to working on her arm.  Nolan fights back with some kicks followed by a flatliner for a 2 count.  It looked like Jesse really thought she had the win this time and she is thinking about what she has to do to put him away.    She goes to pick him up, but he squashes her into one corner and smashes her face into the other.  He then proceeds to just start choking Nolan.  She is able to duck a clothesline and hits a rana for another near fall.  She follows this up with an Eat Da Feet and really looks to be in control.  She goes for a scissor kick but misses and Lee hits a running headbutt for the win.  After the match Lee has some words for Dylan Nix and Konnor Hex as he looks to run through all of the Limitless Dojo students.  Jessie Nolan was very impressive in this match, but Alexander Lee’s experience was a little too much for her this time. However, I expect to see some big things from Jessie in the future.

Travis Huckabee (with King Crab) vs  Masha Slamovich

Masha is making her return to Limitless from an extended trip to Japan.  She starts the match quickly with a big boot to Travis, but he shakes it off.  They both go for big moves but the other is able to avoid the attempts.  Travis works on Masha’s arm.  Masha tries to flip out but is not able to and Travis locks it into a choke.  Masha goes for a boot in the corner but misses and Travis picks her up and drops her on his knee.  Travis continues to work on her arm, then hits her with a suplex.  He gets a 2 count and proceeds to nonchalantly pick her up and throws her over his head across the ring.  Travis hits a backfist but Masha counters with a suplex followed by a knee in the corner and a boot in the other corner.  She goes for a piledriver, but Travis gets her up into a stretch muffler position.  She is able to fight out of the submission, but he throws her into the turnbuckle and hits her with a knee to the face for a near fall.  Masha shows just how tough she is and recovers quickly, hitting him with a spin kick to the side of the head followed by a pile driver for the win.  This was a fantastic match between 2 amazing wrestlers.  Travis is going to have to go back to Leary and The Hive with a loss, but he has nothing to be ashamed of losing to someone the caliber of Masha Slamovich.
