Are you ready for another Johny Bootlegger October double feature? After featuring the Johny Bootlegger "Hard Squeezed" Ice Lemonade and "Juice Joint" Watermelon earlier this month, we are back for round two with the SOUR edition!
On tap this time around is Johny Bootlegger Alcatraz Sour Apple and Scarface Sour Raspberry!
First up is the Johny Bootlegger Alcatraz Sour Apple and let me tell you, if you are looking for something to fill the void for the discontinued Green Apple Cisco, this is your answer. From the smell to the first sip the first thing I thought of was Cisco. While it's not as strong at only 12% compared to the 18% Cisco, it will still get the job done. Nothing to write home about with the taste, but what do you expect?
Up next is the Scarface Sour Raspberry. Is it blue raspberry? Sure, it's blue, but it's lacking with the taste. Compared to other blue raspberry malt beverages (like the MD 20/20 Sweet Blue Raspberry cans) this one does not deliver.
Mixing the two sour flavors together does make them more enjoyable, but compared to the first two flavors we gave a shot the first time around, these two rank on the bottom of the list. What happens when you combine all FOUR flavors? Stay tuned!
