From the White Trash Test Kitchen: Snack Review - Lay's Layers.

There is an old adage that goes like this: "If it's not broken, don't fix it,". Many brands have learned this the hard way.

Coke with "new" coke, crystal pepsi, fuck even KFC changed its "secret recipe" style chicken, only to have to go back to it after chicken lovers screamed FUCK YOU AND YOUR NEW, we want the Sanders recipe.

I fall for every gimmick these snack companies throw out; it's like falling for a magician's trick knowing what you're seeing isn't really what you are seeing.

Well, these new Lay's Layers ... I'm lost on this man. It says potato snack on the back. I went in thinking these were potato chips and they aren't. They are hard to describe, really, but there's one thing that is easy to describe.

The sour cream and onion flavored "layer," is disgusting. It doesn't taste anything like the regular lay's chip, to me - but I will admit, after getting covid last year some things don't taste the same to me; so maybe this is one of them.

All I know is I ate about five of these layers and said no more! The "three cheese," bag was a little better, but honestly, I don't like the texture of these Layers.

They would be solid dip chips, as the structure is very strong compared to a normal lays chip, but this isn't something I'd buy again.

Unless they come out with some new gimmick flavor, of course.
