Did the world really need a hemp flavored Four Loko? No, but here we are. This is the first flavor in the new Four Loko "Innovation Series" that comes in at 12% and apparently "tastes how mother nature intended."
Contrary to popular belief, Four Loko Hemp does not contain any hemp extracts or cannabis components. It is brewed with hemp seed oil to give it authentic "hemp flavors". Four Loko Hemp was released earlier this year in advance of 4/20 as the latest beverage to take the dive into the world of CBD and hemp-derived products that seem to be all the rage these days.
While not actively being on the lookout for the Four Loko Hemp, I ended up stumbling upon a can in my travels this past week. This is one of those beverages that you knew would be interesting going into it, but nonetheless had to be done as a special malt beverage of the week prior to the return of Tall Boy Thursday next week in preparation of Thursday Night Football!
Upon cracking open the can I could smell the strong aroma, and the taste isn't much better. Sure, it doesn't taste absolutely terrible, but it certainly isn't a flavor that I would want to sit back and enjoy on a regular basis. Now personally I am not one for the cannabis, so this really isn't the drink for me. Maybe someone who partakes in the weed would find this Four Loko more enjoyable. I'm the type of person that likes to stick to the Four Loko classics, but this is a unique drink that you need to give a try just to see what types of drinks can be made in 2019. What a time to be alive!
